The US EPA method 502.1 is an analytical method that uses a purge & trap device for sample prep and a gas chromatograph equipped with a packed column to perform the separation of the volaile halogenated components found in a 5 mL sample of drinking or rawsource water. To detect the GC eluant, a Hall detecor is used.
