It has been shown that the C-terminal UBA domain of Dsk2p binds to K48-linked polyubiquitin chains and that the N-terminal Ubl domain of Dsk2p interacts with the proteasome. The Dsk2 UBA domain may therefore be particularly useful for capturing the totality of ubiquitin-modified proteins from complex protein mixtures.
