The Cage Assembly System provides a convenient way to construct large optomechanical systems with an established line of precision-machined building blocks designed for high flexibility and accurate alignment. Our KC series mounts have been designed to allow for the precise angular positioning of optics within a cage system.

The KC45D Gimbal mount is perfect for mounting a beamsplitter or a mirror for directing a light into or out of a cage mounted system.

The KC1 series kinematic mounts is ideal for mounting a retroreflecting mirror or a collimated light source for the precise angular alignment of the beam along the axis of 30 mm cage systems. Accurate center axis alignment with the 30 mm cage system is made easier with a cage system alignment plate.

The KCB1 is a kinematic mount that can be used to mount a mirror for changing the propagation direction of light by 90° in an optical setup that uses Thorlabs
30 mm cage or SM1 lens tube components.

Compatibility: Thorlabs offers 16 mm, 30 mm and 60 mm cage systems designed for 1/2", 1" and 2" optical components (respectively). The parts on this page are compatible with our 30 mm cage system and utilize 6 mm ER cage rods.
