In a short review, we will review briefly the basics of surface characterization by dynamic gas adsorption using 15 and more different gas probe, also called Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC). In more depth, we will describe common drawbacks and difficulties of IGC measurements.  We will explain the innovative approach of the new Neuronic instrument including concept as the frontal injection and examples of applications. A special emphasis will be on the unique determination of isotherms based on a single experiment using the flow injection mode to achieve constant p/p0 and the analysis of the desorption curve. You will learn, how the specific surface area in m2/g can be determined by a BET regression using different gaseous probes (even water vapor) and at room temperature and above. Interpretation of the same desorption curve delivers also the Adsorption Energy Distribution Function (AEDF), a measure of the surface heterogeneity.
