NUF2基因编码功能及结构描述

该基因编码一种与酵母nuf2高度相似的蛋白质，nuf2是与着丝粒相关的保守蛋白复合物的组成部分。当着丝粒与纺锤体失去连接时，酵母nuf2在减数分裂前期从着丝粒中消失，并在染色体分离中起调节作用。该编码蛋白与有丝分裂hela细胞的着丝粒相关，提示该蛋白是酵母nuf2的功能同源物。已经描述了编码相同蛋白质的选择性剪接转录变体。

This gene encodes a protein that is highly similar to yeast Nuf2, a component of a conserved protein complex associated with the centromere. Yeast Nuf2 disappears from the centromere during meiotic prophase when centromeres lose their connection to the spindle pole body, and plays a regulatory role in chromosome segregation. The encoded protein is found to be associated with centromeres of mitotic HeLa cells, which suggests that this protein is a functional homolog of yeast Nuf2.
