What is BS EN 1364-2 - Fire resistance tests for non-loadbearing elements - Ceilings about?   BS EN 1364-2 is the second part of the multi-series standard that is applicable to the fire resistance of ceilings.   This part of EN 1364 specifies a method for determining the fire resistance of ceilings, which in themselves possess fire resistance independent of any building element above them. This European Standard is used in conjunction with BS EN 1363-1 .   The contribution to fire resistance which a suspended ceiling might provide as a protective membrane to loadbearing elements is determined using the procedure given in EN 13381-1 . 1.1 This practice covers material properties related to flammability, smoke products and heat release rates for materials specified for vehicles associated with amusement rides and devices. 1.2 This practice also defines specific requirements for standardized test methods for determining material properties related to flammability, smoke production and heat release rates for materials specified for vehicles associated with amusement rides and devices. 1.3 This practice defines acceptance criteria for the material properties of flammability, smoke production and heat release rates for seating, upholstery and padding materials specified for vehicles on amusement rides and devices. 1.4 This practice includes an appendix (non-mandatory), which provides additional information (for example, rationale, background, interpretations, drawings, commentary, and so forth) to improve the user’s understanding and application of the criteria presented in this practice. The appendix information shall not be interpreted as mandatory design criteria. 1.5 This practice shall not apply to: 1.5.1 Materials specified for amusement rides or devices not associated with the vehicle. 1.5.2 Materials used for the construction of facilities. 1.5.3 Fluids and lubricants. 1.5.4 Mats used on water slides or other aquatic devices. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. 1.1 This test method determines the fire-test-response characteristics of deck structures attached to or in close proximity to primary structures. The burning brand exposures test is intended to determine the degradation modes of decking materials when exposed to a burning brand on the upper surface of a deck structure. 1.2 The use of paints, coatings, stains, or other surface treatments for fire protection purposes are beyond the scope of this test method. This test method excludes the use of paints, stains, or coatings for this fire-test-response determination. 1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.4 This standard is used to measure and describe the response of materials, products, or assemblies to heat and flame under controlled conditions, but does not by itself incorporate all factors required for fire-hazard or fire-risk assessment of the materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire conditions. 1.5 Fire testing of products and materials is inherently hazardous. Adequate safeguards for personnel and property shall be employed in conducting these tests. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
