IEC 61094-3:2016 specifies a primary method of determining the complex free-field sensitivity of laboratory standard microphones so as to establish a reproducible and accurate basis for the measurement of sound pressure under free-field conditions. It is applicable to laboratory standard microphones meeting the requirements of IEC 61094-1. It is intended for use by laboratories with highly experienced staff and specialized equipment. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 1995. This edition constitutes a technical revision.

IEC 61260-3:2016 describes procedures for periodic testing of octave-band and fractional-octave-band filters that were designed to conform to the class 1 or class 2 specifications given in IEC 61260-1:2014. The aim of this standard is to ensure that periodic testing is performed in a consistent manner by all laboratories. This first edition of IEC 61260-3 (together with IEC 61260-1:2014 and IEC 61260-2:2016), cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 61260 published in 1995 and its Amendment 1 published in 2001. This edition constitutes a technical revision.

IEC 61669:2015 gives recommendations and requirements for the measurement and estimation of the real-ear acoustical performance characteristics of air-conduction hearing aids and for the measurement of certain acoustic properties of the ear related to the application of hearing aids. Measurements of real-ear acoustical characteristics of hearing aids which apply non-linear or analytical processing techniques are valid only for the test signals used and conditions employed. The purpose of this standard is to ensure that measurements of real-ear acoustical performance characteristics of a given hearing aid on a given human ear can be replicated in other locations with other test equipment. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 61669:2001 and the first edition of ISO 12124:2001. This edition constitutes a technical revision.

This Technical Specification defines terms and specifies methods for quantifying the imaging performance of real-time, ultrasound B-mode scanners. The types of transducers used (see sections 7.6 and 10.7 of [1]) with these scanners include a) phased array, b) linear arrays, c) convex arrays, d) mechanical sector scanners, e) 3-D probes operating in 2-D imaging mode (see Annex K), f) 3-D probes operating in 3-D imaging mode for a limited number of sets of reconstructed 2-D images (see Annex K). The test methodology is applicable for transducers operating in the 2 MHz to 15 MHz frequency range.

This standard applies to the microphone part and earphone part of handsets, headsets or earsets for speech communications, and also to the microphone units and earphone units of built-in handsets, headsets or earsets. The object of this standard is to establish definitions relating to these electroacoustic transducers, and to standardize the characteristics to be specified and the relevant methods of measurement. This does not exclude the use of other methods of measurement which can be shown to give the same or more reliable results.

This International Standard specifies requirements for the electroacoustical performance of systems of instruments used to measure sound for the purposes of aeroplane noise certification, and recommends methods by which tests may be made periodically to verify that the performance continues to comply with the requirements given within stated tolerances. In general, a sound measurement system for this purpose comprises a combination of instruments extending from a microphone through data recording and processing devices to a suitable output. Particular measurement systems, differing in their composition, perform the necessary functions in different ways and operate on either analogue or digital principles. The purpose of this International Standard is to ensure that different measurement systems have the same electroacoustical characteristics within the stated tolerances under specified reference environmental conditions. This standard does not provide recommendations for installation of microphones or microphone windscreens, nor requirements for measurement and analysis procedures used in aeroplane noise certification, but gives only the performance specifications for the measurement systems used to provide one-third-octave-band sound pressure levels averaged over a period of time. Certain of the requirements apply to the complete measurement system, including any means of recording a time waveform of the sound pressure signal to be measured prior to analysis. Other requirements apply specifically to the microphone which generates an electrical signal in response to the sound pressure received. Still further requirements apply only to the instruments used to operate on that signal in order to provide an output in the form of one-third-octave-band sound pressure levels. The requirements of this International Standard apply to the instruments used to measure the sound produced by jet- or propeller-driven transport-category aeroplanes of maximum certificated takeoff mass over 9 000 kg, or their propulsion systems when installed on a suitable outdoor engine test stand.
