1.1 This specification covers a group of common requirements that shall apply to steel flanges, forged fittings, valves, and parts for piping applications under any of the following individual product specifications: Title of Specification ASTM Designation Forgings, Carbon Steel, for Piping Components A105/A105M Forgings, Carbon Steel, for General-Purpose Piping A181/A181M Forged or Rolled Alloy-Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged A182/A182M Fittings, and Valves and Parts for High Temperature Service Forgings, Carbon and Low Alloy Steel, Requiring Notch A350/A350M Toughness Testing for Piping Components Forged or Rolled 8 and 9 % Nickel Alloy A522/A522M Steel Flanges, Fittings, Valves, and Parts for Low-Temperature Service Forgings, Carbon and Alloy Steel, for Pipe Flanges, A694/A694M Fittings, Valves, and Parts for High-Pressure Transmission Service Flanges, Forged, Carbon and Alloy Steel for Low A707/A707M Temperature Service Forgings, Carbon Steel, for Piping Components with A727/A727M Inherent Notch Toughness Forgings, Titanium-Stabilized Carbon Steel, for A836/A836M Glass-Lined Piping and Pressure Vessel Service 1.2 In case of conflict between a requirement of the individual product specification and a requirement of this general requirement specification, the requirements of the individual product specification shall prevail over those of this specification. 1.3 By mutual agreement between the purchaser and the supplier, additional requirements may be specified (see Section 4.1.2). The acceptance of any such additional requirements shall be dependent on negotiations with the supplier and must be included in the order as agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier. 1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text and the tables, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. The inch-pound units shall apply, unless the “M” designation (SI) of the product specification is specified in the order. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This specification covers hubless cast iron soil pipe and fittings for use in gravity flow applications. It establishes standards covering material, manufacture, mechanical and chemical properties, dimensions, coating, test methods, inspection, certification, and product marking for hubless cast iron soil pipe and fittings. These pipe and fittings are intended for non-pressure applications, as the selection of the proper size for sanitary drain, waste, vent, and storm drain systems allows free air space for gravity drainage. 1.2 The EDP/ASA numbers indicated in this section represent a Uniform Industry Code adopted by the American Supply Association (ASA). A group designation prefix, 022, is assigned to hubless products, followed by the four-digit identification assigned to individual items and a check digit. This system has been instituted to facilitate EDP control through distribution channels, and is to be used universally in ordering and specifying product items. Those items with no EDP numbers are either new, special, or transitory and will be assigned numbers on subsequent prints of this specification. 1.3 This specification covers pipe and fittings of the following patterns and applies to any other patterns that conform with the dimensions found in Tables 1 and 2 and all other applicable requirements given in this specification.2 1.3.1 Lengths: Figures EDP/ASA Identification Numbers for Hubless Pipe Fig. 1 10 ft (3.0 m) in sizes and 5 ft. This document specifies the requirements of fitness for purpose of the polyethylene (PE) piping system in the field of the supply of gaseous fuels. It specifies the requirements for electrofusion, butt fusion and mechanical joints. It specifies the method of preparation of test piece joints, and the tests to be carried out on these joints for assessing the fitness for purpose of the system under normal and extreme conditions. It specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this document. NOTE 1 This document is intended only to be used by the product manufacturer to assess the performance of components according to EN 1555-2, EN 1555-3:2021, and EN 1555-4:2021 when joined together under normal and extreme conditions in accordance with this document. It is not intended for on-site testing of pipe systems. In conjunction with Parts 1 to 4 of EN 1555, it is applicable to PE pipes, fittings, valves, their joints and to joints with components of other materials intended to be used under the following conditions: a) a maximum operating pressure, MOP, up to and including 10 bar1 at a reference temperature of 20 °C for design purposes; b) an operating temperature between − 20 °C and 40 °C. NOTE 2 For other operating temperatures between 20 °C and 40 °C, derating coefficients are defined in Annex A. EN 1555 (all parts) covers a range of maximum operating pressures and gives requirements concerning colours.

ISO 15876-1:2017 specifies the general aspects of polybutene-1 (PB-1) piping systems intended to be used for hot and cold water installations within buildings for the conveyance of water whether or not intended for human consumption (domestic systems) and for heating systems, under design pressures and temperatures according to the class of application (see Table 1). The designation polybutene is used together with the abbreviation PB throughout this document. ISO 15876-1:2017 covers a range of service conditions (application classes) and design pressure and pipe dimension classes. Values of TD, Tmax and Tmal in excess of those in Table 1 do not apply. NOTE It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this document. In conjunction with the other parts of ISO 15876, this document is applicable to PB pipes, fittings, their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for hot and cold water installations.
