This International Standard establishes mounting dimensions for single rod short-stroke cylinders with bores from 32 mm to 100 mm for use at 10 MPa (100 bar), as required for interchangeability of these commonly used hydraulic cylinders. NOTE 1 This International Standard is intended to provide basic guidelines while allowing manufacturers of hydraulic equipment flexibility in the design of cylinders and not restricting technical development. NOTE 2 The dimensions of these cylinders are most likely to require a minimum of space for mounting. note: 1) 1 bar = 0,1 MPa = 10Pa; 1 Pa = 1 N/m

This International Standard established a metric series of basic, mounting and accessories dimensions as required for interchangeability of single- or double-rod pneumatic cylinders, with or without provision for magnetic sensors for a maximum rated pressure of 1 000 kPa (10 bar). It is applicable to pneumatic cylinders with detachable mountings.

ISO 21287:2004 establishes a metric series of single rod pneumatic compact cylinders with bores of 20 mm to 100 mm for use of at maximum working pressure of 1 000 kPa (10 bar) with and without magnetic function. This series of pneumatic cylinder is not equipped with adjustable cushioning. Therefore, the application is restricted to those systems where adjustable cushioning is not required. Cylinders with bores of 20 mm and 25 mm can be used with end cover mountings in accordance with ISO 21287:2004. Cylinders with bores from 32 mm to 100 mm can be used with end cover mountings in accordance with ISO 15552. Piston rod mountings can be used for the different bores in accordance with ISO 8139 and ISO 8140.

1 This Technical Report describes how to calculate the loading limits for a pneumatic slide based upon: — external forces applied in the three principle planes of a tool plate, and applied at any point; — external torque applied in the three principle planes of a tool plate; — bearing limits determined by the slide manufacturer in conjunction with the bearing supplier. 2 This Technical Report also describes how to calculate tool plate deflections due to the loads. 3 This Technical Report describes how to present the rating information in technical documentation for application by a user. 4 This Technical Report assumes that all of the applied loads and torque will be absorbed by the guide rods and not by the piston rod. Only the axial thrust load (but not the resulting moments) will be absorbed by the piston rod.

This International Standard specifies dimensions and tolerances of housings for wiper rings used in reciprocating rod applications for fluid power cylinders. The range of rod diameters is from 4 mm to 360 mm. This International Standard is applicable to the following four housing designs. — Type A: recessed housings with undercut or separate cover to retain elastomeric wipers (these are the preferred housings for single lip wipers without integral rigid enforcement). — Type B: open recessed housings for wipers with integral rigid enforcement, that are a press-fit in the housing. — Type C: recessed housings with undercut to retain elastomeric wipers (these are the preferred housings for double lip wipers without integral rigid enforcement). — Type D: recessed housings with undercut to retain elastomer-energized, plastic-faced wipers. This International Standard does not otherwise specify the style, configurations, materials, or performance ratings for the wiper ring.
