This European Standard specifies requirements for the qualification testing of welding procedures for the arc welding of tube to tube-plate joints in metallic materials by manual, partly mechanized, mechanized or automatic processes. This standard is a part of a series of standards. Details of this series are given in prEN ISO 15607, Annex A. Qualification by tube to tube-plate joint tests can be used for all joints even if they are fully loaded or only seal welded as required in application standards. In such cases, one or more special test pieces should be made to simulate the production joint in all essential features, e.g. dimensions, restraint, heat sink effects. The test should be carried out prior to and under the conditions to be used in production. This standard applies to fusion welding of metallic materials for tube to tube-plate joints with gap. This standard does not apply to tube-sheets with forged end connections with welded tubes (external/internal bore welds). For welding of tube to tube-plate joints without gap welding procedure test should be defined in the specification. For other applications and/or requirements the standard can be used if required by the specification. Repair welding should be considered in the welding procedure test.

This part of ISO 9692 applies to types of joint preparation for submerged arc welding with one wire electrode (process 121 according to ISO 4063) on steel. This part of ISO 9692 covers only the welding positions PA and PB according to ISO 6947. In case PC is used, special preparation will be necessary. It applies to fully penetrated welds. For partly penetrated welds, types of joint preparation, shapes and dimensions may differ from the listed proposals if they are specified in the relevant application standard or agreed by parties concerned. If the root is welded by a different arc welding process (see ISO 4063), the joint preparation according to ISO 9692 should be taken into account.

This International Standard specifies the requirements for the testing procedures for interference-fit/form-fit blind rivet joints and lock bolt joints made of metallic and non-metallic materials. The tests required for a particular joint depend upon the performance requirements of the component/assembly and shall be established before any testing is undertaken. The term sheet as used in this International Standard includes extrusions, cast material, plastics, and fibre-reinforced plastics, e. g. carbon and glass fibre-reinforced plastics. NOTE Specific service, material, or manufacturing conditions can require more comprehensive testing than specified in this International Standard. Such tests can include macro and micro sections, fatigue, and/or endurance tests. This International Standard does not apply to civil engineering applications such as metal building and steel construction which are covered by other applicable International Standards.

This part of ISO 15614 is one of a series of standards, details of which are given in ISO 15607:2003, Annex A. It specifies how a welding procedure specification for finishing welding of aluminium castings is qualified by welding procedure tests. It does not apply to repair welding. For joint welding, ISO 15614-2 applies. This part of ISO 15614 specifies tests for the qualification of welding procedure specifications applicable to upset (resistance butt) welding and flash welding of metallic materials, e.g. with solid, tubular, flat or circular cross-section. Its basic principles can also be applied to other resistance welding processes when this is stated in the specification. This part of ISO 15614 defines the conditions for carrying out tests and the limits of validity of a qualified welding procedure for all the practical welding operations that it covers. The tests required to qualify the procedure for a particular component or assembly depend on the performance and quality requirements of the component or assembly, as defined in the design specification. The tests are intended to be carried out in accordance with the requirements of this part of ISO 15614, unless more severe tests are specified by the relevant application standard or specification and when these apply. NOTE Specific service, material, or manufacturing conditions can require more comprehensive testing than specified by this part of ISO 15614. Such tests can include microsections, fatigue or endurance tests, impact tests, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, corrosion testing and tests of components or complete welded assemblies. This part of ISO 15614 covers the following resistance welding processes, as defined in ISO 4063: — 24 flash welding, using direct current or alternating current with various movement sequences, constant flashing and pulsed flashing; — 25 resistance upset welding, using direct current or alternating current with various pressure sequences.

This part of this European Standard specifies standardised conditions for an assessment of shop primers on the weldability of steel materials. The standard is intended to be used for assessment of shop primers by: — testing by the suppliers during development of new shop primers; — testing by the suppliers during production as part of a quality control scheme; — declaration of the properties of shop primers by suppliers; — use as a reference in contracts between suppliers and customers for deliveries of shop primers; — acceptance testing of shop primers by customers. The standard can also be used for comparisons between different shop primers using the welding procedure appropriate for the task, or between the different welding procedures using a specific shop primer.
