IEC 62271-111:2012(E) applies to all overhead, pad mounted, dry vault and submersible single or multi-pole alternating current automatic circuit reclosers and fault interrupters for rated maximum voltages above 1 000 V and up to 38 kV. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition, published in 2005, and constitutes a technical revision. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are as follows: a) addition of exclusion of devices with dependent manual operation to 1.1; b) harmonization of the amplitude factor kaf used for calculating the TRV for cable connected systems consistent with recent harmonization of the circuit-breaker standards between IEEE and IEC; c) deletion of requirements for radio influence voltage (RIV) tests; d) addition of specifications and ratings to cover the cutout recloser and its special requirements. This standard has been jointly revised by Switchgear Committee of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, in cooperation with subcommittee 17A: High-voltage switchgear and controlgear with reference to IEEE Std C37.60-2012(E). This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 62271-1:2007.

This technical report IEC/TR 62271-310:2008 is applicable to class E2 circuit-breakers above a rated voltage of 52 kV and above intended for use on overhead lines. The test programmes are based on accumulated electrical stresses due to current interruption during a period of 25 years, which was chosen as representative for a maintenance-free interval. This second edition of IEC/TR 62271-310 cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2004. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - reduction of number tests in the wear stage; - new definition of acceptance test for demonstration of end-of-life thermal interruption capability.

IEC 62271-105:2012 applies to three-pole units for public and industrial distribution systems which are functional assemblies of switches including switch-disconnectors and current-limiting fuses designed so as to be capable of - breaking, at the rated recovery voltage, any current up to and including the rated short-circuit breaking current; - making, at the rated voltage, circuits to which the rated short-circuit breaking current applies. It does not apply to fuse-circuit-breakers, fuse-contactors, combinations for motor-circuits or to combinations incorporating single capacitor bank switches. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 62271-105, published in 2002, and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - implementation of figures at the place where they are cited first; - renumbering of tables; - addition of some of the proposals from IEC paper 17A/852/INF; - addition of missing subclauses of IEC 62271-1; - implementation of 6.105 "Extension of validity of type tests" and consequently removing of the relevant parts in the different existing clauses; - change of 7th paragraph of 6.101.4 as there is now a definition of NSDD given in 3.7.4 of IEC 62271-1:2007. Harmonization with IEC 62271-107; - some referenced clauses in other standards like IEC 60282-1 were changed and therefore changed the editions under 1.2 to the ones referred to; - addition of a new Annex C defining tolerances.

IEC 62271-110:2012 is applicable to a.c. circuit-breakers designed for indoor or outdoor installation, for operation at frequencies of 50 Hz and 60 Hz on systems having voltages above 1 000 V and applied for inductive current switching with or without additional short-circuit current breaking duties. The standard is applicable to circuit-breakers in accordance with IEC 62271-100 that are used to switch high-voltage motor currents and shunt reactor currents and also to high-voltage contactors used to switch high-voltage motor currents as covered by IEC 62271-106. For circuit-breakers applied to switch shunt reactor currents at rated voltages according to IEC 62271 1:2007 Tables 2a and 2b, combined voltage tests across the isolating distance are not required (refer to 4.2). This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2009 and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - former Table 2 has been split into three new tables to conform with IEC 62271-100 and to address actual in service circuit configurations. - the criteria for successful testing has been revised to a more explicit statement (see 6.114.11a). - comments received in response to 17A/959/CDV and 17A/981/RVC have been addressed. The contents of the corrigendum of October 2012 have been included in this copy. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 62271-1:2007.

IEC 62271-103:2011 is applicable to three-phase, alternating current switches and switch-disconnectors for their switching function, having making and breaking current ratings, for indoor and outdoor installations, for rated voltages above 1 kV up to and including 52 kV and for rated frequencies from 162/3 Hz up to and including 60 Hz. This standard is also applicable to single-pole switches used on three phase systems. This standard cancels and replaces the third edition of IEC 60265-1, published in 1998. It constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 60265-1:1998: - the rated voltage of 52 kV is now included; - the document is aligned with IEC 62271-1 and IEC 62271-100; - addition of a test procedure for short-circuit making tests; - introduction of notion of NSDD (non-sustained disruptive discharge) as defined in IEC 62271-1 and restrikes; - new classes C1 and C2 for capacitive switching; - new Annex A defining tolerances. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 62271-1:2007. The contents of the corrigendum of October 2013 have been included in this copy.

IEC/TR 62271-303:2008 addresses the procedures for safe and environmental compatible handling of SF6 during installation, commissioning, normal and abnormal operations, disposal at the end of life of high voltage switchgear and controlgear. Storage and transportation of SF6 are also covered. These procedures should be regarded as minimum requirements to ensure the safety of personnel working with SF6 and to minimize the SF6 emission to the environment. This first edition of IEC/TR 62271-303 cancels and replaces the first edition of IEC 61634 published in 1995. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: IEC/TR 62271-303 is a major revision of the old IEC 61634. The former sections of IEC 61634 are removed and replaced by the chapters of the CIGRE brochure n. 276. IEC 61634 was issued in 1995 when the focus was on safety. In 2008, safety is a very well known and established concept and the focus is nowadays on the environmental compatibility. SF6 must be kept in a closed cycle and any intentional release must be forbidden. The implementation of the SF6 reuse concept suggested in the CIGRE brochure was updated with the most recent information. Today SF6 can be recovered and reclaimed for either being reused on-site or given back to the gas supplier and reused as raw material for the production of "technical grade SF6". Detailed procedures for appropriate SF6 handling are given together with the description of the state-of-the-art equipments and measuring devices.

This standard identifies which requirements of IEC 60694, IEC 62271-100 and IEC 62271-102 standards are applicable. It also gives the additional requirements specific to these devices. IEC 62271-201:2014 specifies requirements for prefabricated solid-insulation enclosed switchgear and controlgear for alternating current of rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV for indoor installation and for service frequencies up to and including 60 Hz. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition, published in 2006. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) apart from updating with the second edition of IEC 62271-200 (issued in 2011), definitions, classifications and testing procedures have been specified more precisely; b) access to the solid-insulation enclosed switchgear and controlgear is now restricted to authorized personnel only. This implies that 'accessibility class B' (public access) has been deleted throughout the document; c) the term 'protection category' has been introduced to replace the term 'protection grade' (PA, PB1 and PB2).

IEC 62271-202:2014 specifies the service conditions, rated characteristics, general structural requirements and test methods of high voltage/low voltage or low voltage/high voltage prefabricated substations, which are cable-connected, to be operated from inside (walk-in type) or outside (non-walk-in type) for alternating current of rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV on the high voltage side, and for one or more transformers for service frequencies up to and including 60 Hz for outdoor installation at locations with public accessibility and where protection of personnel is provided. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2006. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) regarding temperature-rise test an alternative method for liquid filled transformers is (re)introduced and the temperature-rise test method for dry-type transformers is specified more precisely; b) testing procedure for short time and peak withstand current tests are specified more precisely; c) assessment of electromagnetic fields is considered including a type test (optional) according IEC/TR 62271-208:2009; d) influence of the product on the environment is considered (Clause 12); e) internal arc test requirements have been adapted to IEC 62271-200:2011 and requirements for the assessment of pressure relief volumes below the floor / ground has been assigned; f) the method for defining the load factor in an enclosure for liquid filled transformers is extended with different temperature rises for the transformer outside the enclosure (Annex DD); g) for the calculation of the load factor of dry-type transformers in an enclosure the insulation systems according to IEC 60076-1:2011, Tables B.1 and B.2 are worked out in detail.
