This part of IEC 60947 applies to flow rate switches that sense the rate of flow of a gas, a liquid or a granular solid. These switches change their output state if a pre-set value for the speed of flow is exceeded. These flow rate switches are self-contained, have semiconductor switching element(s) and are intended to be connected to circuits, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 250 V 50 Hz/60 Hz a.c. or 300 V d.c. This standard does not specify the additional measures that are necessary for flow rate switches used in conjunction with explosive sensing materials and/or in an explosive location. This standard is not intended to cover devices with analogue outputs. The object of this standard is to state for flow rate switches: – definitions; – classifications; – characteristics; – product information; – normal service, mounting and transport conditions; – constructional and performance requirements; – tests to verify rated characteristics.

This part of IEC 60947 specifies requirements for terminal blocks with screw-type or screwless-type clamping units primarily intended for industrial or similar use and to be fixed to a support to provide electrical and mechanical connection between copper conductors. lt applies to terminal blocks intended to connect round copper conductors, with or without special preparation, having a cross-section between 0,2 mm2 and 300 mm2 (AWG 24/600 kcmil), intended to be used in circuits of a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. up to 1000 Hz or 1500 V d.c. NOTE AWG is the abbreviation of “American Wire Gage” (Gage (US) = Gauge (UK)) kcmil = 1000 cmil; 1 cmil = 1 circular mil = surface of a circle having a diameter of 1 mil 1 mil = 1/1 000 inchThis standard may be used as a guide for − terminal blocks requiring the fixing of special devices to the conductors, for example quick connect terminations or wrapped connections, etc.; − terminal blocks providing direct contact to the conductors by means of edges or points penetrating the insulation, for example insulation displacement connections, etc.; − special types of terminal blocks, for example with diodes or varistors or similar component holders, etc. Where applicable in this standard, the term “clamping unit” has been used instead of the term “terminal”. This is taken into account in case of reference to IEC 60947-1.

This part of IEC 60947 series provides additional requirements to those given in IEC 60947-5-2. It addresses the fault performance aspects of proximity devices with a defined behaviour under fault conditions (PDDB). It does not address any other characteristics that can be required for specific applications. This standard does not cover proximity devices with analogue output. This Standard does not deal with any specific requirements on acoustic noise as the noise emission of control circuit devices and switching elements is not considered to be a relevant hazard. For a PDDB used in applications where additional characteristics, dealt with in other standards, are required, the requirements of all relevant standards apply. The use of this standard alone does not demonstrate suitability for the implementation of any specific safety related functionality. In particular, this standard does not provide requirements for the actuation characteristics of a PDDB, or for means to reduce the effects of mutual interference between devices, e.g. coded targets. Therefore these and any other application-specific requirements will need to be considered in addition to the requirements of this standard. NOTE 1 Due to their behaviour under fault conditions, PDDBs can, for example, be used as interlocking devices (see ISO 14119). NOTE 2 The requirements for electro-sensitive protective equipment for the detection of persons are given in the IEC 61496 series.

This International Standard applies to proximity sensors connected for operation by a two-wire connecting cable to the control input of a switching amplifier. The switching amplifier contains a d.c. source to supply the control circuit and is controlled by the variable internal resistance of the proximity sensor. These devices can be used in an explosive atmosphere if they also comply with IEC 60079-11. NOTE These devices have been defined by the German organization “Normenausschuß für Meß- und Regelungstechnik (NAMUR)” (Office for Standardization of Measurement and Regulation Techniques).

"Scope and object This part of IEC 60947 applies to switches@ disconnectors@ switch-disconnectors and fusecombination units to be used in distribution circuits and motor circuits of which the rated voltage does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. The manufacturer shall specify the type@ ratings and characteristics according to the relevant standard of any incorporated fuses. This part does not apply to equipment coming within the scope of IEC 60947-2@ IEC 60947-4-1 and IEC 60947-5-1; however@ when switches and fuse-combination units coming into the scope of this part are normally used to start@ accelerate and/or stop an individual motor they shall also comply with the additional requirements given in Annex A. The requirements for single pole operated three pole switches are included in Annex C. Auxiliary switches fitted to equipment within the scope of this part shall comply with the requirements of IEC 60947-5-1. This part does not include the additional requirements necessary for electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres. NOTE 1 Depending on its design@ a switch (or disconnector) can be referred to as ""a rotary switch (disconnector)""@ ""cam-operated switch (disconnector)""@ ""knife-switch (disconnector)""@ etc. NOTE 2 In this part@ the word ""switch"" also applies to the apparatus referred to in French as ""commutateurs""@ intended to modify the connections between several circuits and inter alia to substitute a part of a circuit for another. NOTE 3 In general@ throughout this part switches@ disconnectors@ switch-disconnectors and fuse-combination units will be referred to as ""equipment"". IEC 62026-3:2014 specifies an interface system between single or multiple controllers, and control circuit devices or switching elements. The interface system uses two conductor pairs within one cable - one of these pairs provides a differential communication medium and the other pair provides power to the devices. This part establishes requirements for the interoperability of components with such interfaces. This third edition of IEC 62026-3 cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2008. This third edition constitutes a technical revision. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are the followings: - specification of group 4 messages (5.1.2); - clarifications on messaging protocol (5.2); - addition of I/O multicast poll messages (5.5.2 and 5.5.8); - clarifications on slave behaviour (5.5.4 and 5.5.9); - clarifications on physical layer (transceiver) in 5.7; - miscellaneous corrections/clarifications on cable (8.2); - clarifications on EMC testing (9.2.10) and logical testing (9.3).
