IEC 60079-19:2019 gives instructions, principally of a technical nature, on the repair, overhaul, reclamation and modification of equipment designed for use in explosive atmospheres; it is not applicable to maintenance, other than when repair and overhaul cannot be disassociated from maintenance, neither does it give advice on cable entry systems which may require a renewal when the equipment is re-installed. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2010 together with Amendment 1:2015. This edition constitutes a technical revision. The significance of the changes between IEC 60079-19, Edition 3 (2010), including Amendment 1 (2015), and IEC 60079-19, Edition 4 (2019) are defined in the foreword and cover minor and editorial changes, extension, and major technical changes.

1 Domaine d’application 1.1 La présente norme porte sur l’équipement d’extraction d’huile végétale commercial et industriel destiné à être installé et utilisé à l’extérieur, dans des lieux (non classés) ordinaires et des lieux (classés) dangereux. En fonction de l’application, l’installation doit être conforme aux instructions d’installation du fabricant, ainsi qu’aux éléments suivants, le cas échéant : a) La norme CSA C22.1, Code canadien de l’électricité, Partie 1, la norme ULC-S4400, Sécurité des locaux, des bâtiments et de l’équipement utilisés pour la culture, la transformation et la production du cannabis, le Code national de prévention des incendies du Canada; et le code CSA B149.1, Code d’installation du gaz naturel et du propane; et b) La norme NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC), l’International Fire Code (IFC), la norme NFPA 1, Fire Code, la norme NFPA 55 Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Code, et la norme NFPA 58, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code. 1.2 L’équipement d’extraction d’huile végétale comprend les éléments suivants : a) Équipement préparatoire pour préparer les matières végétales à l’extraction de l’huile, y compris la coupe, le désensemencement, le séchage et le traitement; b) Extracteurs pour extraire l’huile de la matière végétale à l’aide de gaz de pétrole liquéfié (GPL), de butane, de propane, d’éthanol ou de pentane (solvants inflammables) et de dioxyde de carbone (CO2) [solvant non inflammable]; c) Cabines ou nacelles d’extraction pour entourer ou protéger l’équipement d’extraction d’huile végétale; et d) Équipement de post-traitement pour finaliser le processus d’extraction de l’huile végétale, comme des étuves à vide, des évaporateurs rotatifs et des pompes pour la récupération des solvants. 1.3 Ces équipements, ainsi que les systèmes constitués de n’importe quelle combinaison de ces équipements, servent à extraire les huiles des matières végétales conformément aux instructions du fabricant. 1.4 Les exigences de la présente norme ne touchent pas les caractéristiques ou les effets, notamment physiologiques, qui peuvent résulter de l’utilisation de cet équipement. 1.5 La présente norme ne s’applique pas non plus aux équipements présentant les risques d’inflammation suivants : a) Réactions exothermiques, y compris l’auto-inflammation des poussières; b) Étincelles générées mécaniquement (c.-à-d. intentionnellement); c) Flammes et gaz chauds (y compris les particules chaudes). 1.6 La présente norme ne s’applique pas aux moyens mécaniques pour extraire des huiles végétales qui n’utilisent pas de solvant. 1.7 La présente norme concerne le raccordement des contenants ou des sources de solvant externes avec l’équipement d’extraction d’huile végétale. ISO/IEC 80079-20-1:2017 is published as a dual log standard and provides guidance on classification of gases and vapours. It describes a test method intended for the measurement of the maximum experimental safe gaps (MESG) for gas-air mixtures or vapour-air mixtures under normal conditions of temperature and pressure (20 °C, 101,3 kPa) so as to permit the selection of an appropriate group of equipment. This document also describes a test method intended for use in the determination of the auto-ignition temperature (AIT) of a vapour-air mixture or gas-air mixture at atmospheric pressure, so as to permit the selection of an appropriate temperature class of equipment. Values of chemical properties of materials are provided to assist in the selection of equipment to be used in hazardous areas. Further data may be added as the results of validated tests become available. The materials and the characteristics included in a table (see Annex B) have been selected with particular reference to the use of equipment in hazardous areas. The data in this document have been taken from a number of references which are given in the bibliography. These methods for determining the MESG or the AIT may also be used for gas-air-inert mixtures or vapour-air-inert mixtures. However, data on air-inert mixtures are not tabulated.
