Electromagnetic compatibility (emc).part 4: testing and measurement techniques.section 4: surge immunity tests
Realistic and repeatable criteria, as well as recommended test methods, for characterizing the absorption properties of typical anechoic chamber linings applied to a metallic surface are described. Parameters and test procedures are described for the evaluation of RF absorbers to be used for radiated emissions and radiated susceptibility testing of electronic products, in the absorber manufactured and/or absorber user environment, over the frequency range of 30 MHz to 5 GHz.

This National Standard of Canada is based on International Standard CEI/IEC 1000-2-2:1990. 1 Scope This section of IEC 1000-2 is concerned with conducted disturbances in the frequency range up to 10 kHz with an extension for mains signalling systems. This section gives numerical compatibility levels for low voltage a.c. distribution systems with a nominal voltage up to 347 V, single-phase or 600 V, three-phase and a nominal frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. This section does not deal with the application of compatibility levels to assess, for example, the permissible interference emission from specific items of equipment or installations, because other system parameters, such as its impedance as a function of frequency, have also to be considered. Furthermore, it does not anticipate the specification of immunity levels by the individual committees but merely provides guidance. The disturbance phenomena considered are: - harmonics; - inter-harmonics; - voltage fluctuations; - voltage dips and short supply interruptions; - voltage unbalance; - mains signalling; - power frequency variation; - d.c. components. The object of this section is to give information on the levels of disturbances of various types that can be expected in public low-voltage power supply systems for the guidance of: a) experts and power supply authorities setting limits for disturbance emission in power systems; b) IEC product committees specifying the immunity levels of equipment to public power system disturbances.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 1: General - Section 1: Application and interpretation of basic definitions and terms
This National Standard of Canada is equivalent to International Standard CEI/IEC 1000-1-1:1992 1 Scope The object of this report is to desribe and interpret various terms considered to be of basic importance to concepts and practical application in the design and evaluation of electromagnetically compatible systems. In addition, attention is drawn to the distinction between electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests carried out in a standardized set-up and those carried out at the location where a device (equipment or system) is installed (in situ tests). The terms and their definitions are given in clause 2, with reference to chapter 161 of the IEV [1]. The application of the terms is described in clause 3 and an interpretation of their definitions is presented in the annexes.
