This International Standard applies exclusively to the automatic exposure control built into or coupled with electronic flash equipment. It specifies the methods for measuring the characteristics peculiar to the control such as its accuracy and repeatability. It also lays down the numerical values of the integral of time of the object luminance and of the exposure given to an object by flash equipment with automatic exposure control, as well as the maximum deviation from these nominal values. Furthermore, the measuring conditions are stated under which the adjustment of the automatic exposure control is to be tested. Definitions and measuring methods concerning electronic flash equipment without automatic control of exposure are specified in ISO 2827. It is assumed that when testing the automatic exposure control, the optical axis of the sensor of the control and of the lamp head of the electronic flash equipment are, when fitted to a camera, substantially coincident with that of the taking lens of the camera.

This International Standard specifies a series of preferred values for the distance scale markings of photographic lenses.

This International Standard describes a method for determining and specifiying the contribution of camera lenses to the colour of a photograph. The procedure can also be applied to other optical elements in the camera.
Photography -- Camera lenses -- Determination of ISO colour contribution index (ISO/CCI)
This International Standard specifies methods for measuring the resolution and the SFR of electronic still-picture cameras. It is applicable to the measurement of both monochrome and colour cameras which output digital data or analog video signals.
Photography -- Electronic still picture imaging -- Resolution and spatial frequency responses
This International Standard specifies methods of measurement and sets standards of performance for light output, angle of coverage, ready indication, recycle time and number of flashes for electronic flash equipment of the single flash type, which is primarily intended to provide illumination for photography with cameras in which the contacts that control the flash are closed when the shutter of the camera is fully or nearly fully open.
Photography -- Electronic flash equipment -- Determination of light output and performance
This International Standard specifies the shape, basic dimensions and technical requirements of the screw threads of the shutter cable release tip and socket.

This International Standard specifies a method for calculating a spectral distribution index (SDI) to evaluate the ability of expendable flash and electronic flash units to produce photographic colour results comparable to those obtained with daylight-type films exposed to daylight illumination.
Photography -- Camera flash illuminants -- Determination of ISO spectral distribution index (ISO/SDI)
This International Standard applies to photoelectric flash exposure meters which measure the time integral of the luminance or of the illuminance of a photographic object (to be called thereafter "object") illuminated by a source of light for a brief illumination period 1) and indicate the time integral or a number corresponding to the time integral or the f-number required for the correct exposure of a photographic film with a given speed. Continuous light, which is available in addition to the light emitted by the flash light source, is also evaluated. NOTE 1 If the object is illuminated by electronic flash equipment with automatic exposure control, the measuring results of the flash exposure meter can deviate from the calibration values of the flash equipment.
Photography -- Flash exposure meter -- Requirements
This International Standard specifies the electrical connectors (plugs and sockets) to be used for electronic photoflash equipment. It gives a limited number of connectors and the dimensions to be used for the connection between flash unit and flash synchro-cords. It does not cover those connectors which are intended for the connection of a mains supply to the flash equipment (see IEC 83 and IEC 320), nor those intended for the connection of hand-held cameras to the flash equipment synchro-cord (see ISO 519).

This part of ISO 11315 specifies the measurement of screen luminance level, as seen by a (seated) viewer for all types of purely optical still projection in darkened projection rooms. Since the optical characteristics of the surface of this screen have a direct bearing on luminance, the screen shall be considered an integral part of the projection system for this part of ISO 11315. A standardized light-measuring system allows comparison of screen luminance values for different projection systems used alternately in practical use.

This International Standard identifies a set of features that describes digital still cameras (DSCs), and it specifies their definitions, measurement methods, and presentation methods. This International Standard applies to DSCs designed and produced for and promoted to general consumers and need not be applied to those DSCs designed and produced to meet individual and special specifications agreed upon by particular business or industrial users and the manufacturer. The presentation methods specified in this International Standard are intended for use as notations on camera bodies, on product packaging, on promotional materials for advertising and at the point of purchase, in electronic or printed catalogues and other materials, and in the relevant software.

This part of ISO 9336 specifies a method of testing interchangeable lenses for 35 mm still cameras with a picture format of 24 mm × 36 mm in terms of imaging states aimed at making valid optical transfer function (OTF) measurements. Special lenses for macrophotography, i.e. those designed and manufactured exclusively for obtaining a magnified image are not covered by this part of ISO 9336.
