Exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy has been identified as an environmental factor to be considered before a radio transmitter will be certified by various regulatory agencies. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Office of Engineering and Technlogy (OET) Bulletin 65 (Evaluating Compliance with FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields, edition 97-01, August 1997) outlines various EME evaluation methods as they apply to mobile, portable and base station Land Mobile Radio Products and provides assistance in determining whether a proposed or existing transmitting facility, operation or device complies with established FCC RF Exposure requirements.

A growing number of enterprises employ equipment at the “edge” of the network that relies on physical connections to the cabling infrastructure at the work area, while also having the ability to maintain mobile network access at other locations. A wireless access point is a wireless device which provides connectivity to other wireless devices within its coverage area and also provides interconnection to a wired network. The current suite of TR-42 infrastructure and cabling standards do not specifically cover cabling to wireless access points. Supplementary information is needed on the number of outlets and outlet placement for wireless access points.

Enhanced Wireless 9-1-1 Phase II
This document is an addendum to TIA Telecommunications Service Bulletin TSB-88-B. It is intended to clarify the default ENBW of analog FM receivers that are deployed in the VHF and UHF bands as indicated in Annex A and Table 2. ? Radios in the VHF (high band) that utilize ± 5 kHz deviation often use an IF bandwidth of 16 kHz ? Radios in the UHF (380 - 512 MHz) that utilize ± 5 kHz deviation often use an IF bandwidth of 16 kHz. ? Radios in the 800 MHz band but not the NPSPAC band that utilize ± 5 kHz deviation often use an IF bandwidth of 16 kHz ? Radios in the 800 MHz band that operate in the NPSPAC band with ± 4 kHz deviation require a narrower IF bandwidth to achieve a 20 dB ACRR. ? Narrow analog FM radios do not provide 60 dB ACRR unless a very narrow ENBW in utilized. Some manufacturers do not provide this capability as it is not required by TIA/ANSI 603C.

Project 25 Digital Land Mobile Radio ?Key Fill Device (KFD) Interface Protocol
In many cases, information security is a vital component of a general land mobile radio system. Several security services are available for implementation in these systems. The services are generally optional and they operate within the bounds of the interfaces defined for non-secure operation. This security overlay may be used to provide security of information transferred across general FDMA or TDMA land mobile radio systems. The purpose of this document is to define the meaning of these security services. The definition and detail of how security services are provided is outside the scope of this document. This document was generated in response to Project 25 requirements for security services; however, it is applicable to any general land mobile communications system. TIA 102 security standard documents define protection of Phase 1 and Phase 2 systems. TIA 905 security standard documents define protection of Phase 2 TDMA systems. The security services defined in the TIA 102 and TIA 905 security documents are to be interoperable across the Phase 1 and Phase 2 FDMA and the Phase 2 two-slot TDMA air interfaces.
