1.1 The specification covers a two-part flowable space grade room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber adhesive or compound. The material is specifically designed for applications requiring extreme low temperature, low outgassing and minimal volatile condensibles under extreme operating conditions. The RTV silicone rubber should be suitable for withstanding environmental exposure to temperatures from ???115 to 200??C (???175 to 392??F). The material should also withstand the combination of stress, temperature, and relative humidity expected to be encountered in service. The RTV silicone rubber may be used as a sealing, caulking, potting or bonding material for applications on metal, plastics, rubber, glass, and ceramic products. Types I and II are often used as coatings. 1.2 The values stated in SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the inch-pound units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with this specification. 1.3 The following precautionary statement refers to the test method portion only, Section 8, of this specification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.1 This standard covers four test methods: a hot mill method, two oven methods and a press method for the determination of moisture and other volatile matter content in synthetic rubber. 1.2 Either oven method shall be used especially when the rubber is too tacky to be handled satisfactorily on a hot mill. 1.3 The press method shall be used for rubbers that are too crumbly to be retained satisfactorily on a laboratory mill. 1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are for information only. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Molded or extruded rubber products must withstand the effects of ozone cracking and outdoor weathering for satisfactory use. This test enables a simple comparison of performance to be made under specified test conditions, either in a laboratory test chamber or in an outdoor test. No direct correlation between test performance and service performance can be claimed due to the wide range of service conditions.1.1 This test method permits the estimation of the relative ability of rubber compounds used for applications requiring resistance to outdoor weathering or ozone chamber testing. 1.2 This test method is not applicable to materials ordinarily classed as hard rubber, but is adaptable to molded or extruded soft rubber materials and sponge rubber for use in window weatherstripping as well as similar automotive applications. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use .

1.1 This practice covers a list of standard temperatures from which selection may be made for any specific test or test method. Any standard or specification that specifies test temperatures not listed shall take precedence over this practice.1.2 These temperatures do not apply to mixing, processing, or vulcanizing temperatures for rubber compounds. Any standard requiring preparation of a particular rubber compound should specify the conditions to be used.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. 1.1 This test method describes a procedure to determine the influence of elevated temperature and air pressure on the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. The results of this test may not give an exact correlation with service performance since performance conditions vary widely. The test may, however, be used to evaluate rubber compounds on a laboratory comparison basis. It will be most applicable to performance under conditions of increased temperature and air pressure. Note 1-For evaluating rubber vulcanizates under less severe conditions that more nearly approach natural aging, the use of Test Methods D573 and D865 is recommended. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.1 These test methods cover procedures for testing the static adhesional strength of rubber to rigid materials (in most cases metals). Method A- Rubber Part Assembled Between Two Parallel Metal Plates. Method B- 90176 Stripping Test-Rubber Part Assembled to One Metal Plate. Method C- Measuring Adhesion of Rubber to Metal with a Conical Specimen. Method D- Adhesion Test-Post-Vulcanization (PV) Bonding of Rubber to Metal. Method E- 90176 Stripping Test-Rubber Tank Lining-Assembled to One Metal Plate. 1.2 While the test method may be used with a wide variety of rigid materials, such materials are the exception rather than the rule. For this reason, we have used the word "metal" in the text rather than "rigid materials." 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. These test methods are used to ensure the quality of a product by determining the force per unit width required to separate a rubber layer from a flexible substrate such as fabric, fibre, wire, or sheet metal. The acceptable value of adhesion measured will, of course, vary from product to product due to different rubber formulations, flexible substrates, and types of products. However, once a product is established, minimum values of separation force can be determined and agreed to by producer and consumer and both can monitor to assure maintenance of the agreed-upon minimum value.1.1 These test methods cover the determination of the adhesion strength between plies of fabric bonded with rubber or the adhesion of the rubber layer in articles made from rubber attached to other material. They are applicable only when the adhered surfaces are approximately plane or uniformly circular as in belting, hose, tire carcasses, or rubber-covered sheet metal.1.2 When the adhered surfaces contain sharp bends, angles, or other gross irregularities that cannot be avoided in preparing test specimens, special test methods must be employed for evaluating adhesion.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is designed for testing: (1) specimens of vulcanized rubber cut from standard sheets (see Practice D 3182), (2) specimens cut from fabric coated with vulcanized rubber (see Test Method D 751), or (3) finished articles of commerce (see Practice D 3183). 1.1 These test methods cover procedures for testing the strength of adhesion of single-filament wire to vulcanized rubber compounds. The methods apply to, but are not limited to, wire made from brass, bronze, or zinc coated steel wire. The adhesion strength is expressed as the magnitude of the pull-out force for the single filament of wire or the force generated by strip peeling. 1.2 These test methods are applicable to single-filament wires used in reinforced rubber products as single filaments and are normally used to evaluate the adhesion of samples of wire to a standard rubber applied under specified conditions. They are primarily used to evaluate tire bead wire or hose reinforcing wire and may be applied, with modifications and by agreement between supplier and customer, to various wire types used in rubber product reinforcing. 1.3 These test methods are written in SI units. The inch-pound units which are provided in these methods are not necessarily exact equivalents of the SI units. Either system of units may be used in these methods. In case of referee decisions the SI units will prevail. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
