1.1 This practice is for removing specimens from existing modified bitumen roof membranes for visual assessment and evaluation for abnormalities in the membrane. The roof membrane consists of one or more plies/sheet materials in which at least one ply is a modified bitumen (MB) sheet, and which is installed with one or more of the following methods: hot asphalt, heat welding (open flame torching or heated air), cold adhesive, or self-adhesive. The roof membrane may consist of one or more plies of the following: 1.1.1 SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene), APP (attactic polypropylene), or other polymer, modified bitumen sheet materials. 1.1.2 An exposed modified bitumen sheet material, that is, a modified cap sheet, covering multiple layers of built-up roofing (BUR) plies. 1.1.3 Any adhesive or bitumen component used to install the roof membrane. 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This test method covers the determination of pull-off force and pull-off work of asphalt binders and emulsified asphalt residue by means of pull-off testing. The tackiness test is conducted using the dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) at one or more temperatures. NOTE 1—This standard may be used for unconditioned material or material conditioned in accordance with Test Method D2872. The majority of development work on this test method was performed on unconditioned material. The emulsified asphalt residue should never be conditioned. 1.2 A precision and bias statement for this standard has not been developed at this time. Therefore, this standard should not be used for acceptance or rejection of a material for purchasing purposes. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.4 The text of this standard references notes and footnotes which provide explanatory material. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the standard. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.6 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This practice describes standard procedures for using an electronic scanning system to locate membrane breaches on both horizontal and vertical surfaces to locate potential leaks in exposed roofing and waterproofing membranes. 1.2 This practice addresses the need for a detailed technical description of a scanning method and procedures that are used to test and verify the integrity of membranes. 1.3 This practice is not intended to replace visual or other methods of inspection. It is to be used in conjunction with other methods of roof inspection when specified. 1.4 This practice requires that the detection and location equipment, procedures, and survey parameters used are calibrated to meet established minimum leak detection sensitivity. The detection sensitivity calibration must be verified on a regular basis using the manufacturer’s procedures to assure maximum confidence in the results. 1.5 Scanning surveys can be used on membranes installed on roofs, plaza decks, pools, water features, covered reservoirs, and other roofing and waterproofing applications. 1.6 This practice is applicable for membranes made of electrically insulating materials and is used on certain moderately conductive membranes (see Test Method D4496). 1.7 This practice provides a description of the scanning method and equipment for locating membrane breaches using electric conductance and is intended to be used in conjunction with the manufacturer’s instructions for the proper operation and use of the equipment. 1.8 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.9 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This specification provides requirements for membraneforming liquids suitable for use as curing compounds and sealers on freshly placed concrete and as sealers on hardened concrete. These membranes have special properties, such as, alkali resistance, acid resistance, adhesion-promoting qualities, and resistance to degradation by UV light. NOTE 1—For liquid membrane-forming curing compounds specified primarily by their ability to retain water in newly placed concrete (and by drying time, and for white pigmented products, reflectance), see Specification C309. 1.2 This is a performance specification. The allowable composition of products covered by this specification is limited by various local, regional, and national regulations. Issues related to air quality (solvent emission), worker exposure, and other hazards are not addressed here. It is the responsibility of the producers and users of these materials to comply with pertinent regulations. Warning—Some VOC exempt solvents used to meet the regulations are extremely flammable with low auto ignition temperatures and rapid evaporation rates. Consult the manufacturer’s product information sheet for important application and safety information. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. (Inch pound units are shown in parentheses). 1.4 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to the test methods portion, Section 9, of this specification. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This test method covers the determination of the theoretical maximum specific gravity and density of uncompacted asphalt mixtures at 25 °C [77 °F]. 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. 1.2.1 Residual pressure measurements are shown in both the SI unit of kPa and the commonly used nonstandard equivalent unit of “mm of Hg.” 1.2.2 Measurements of volume and mass are only given in SI units because they are the only units typically used in practice when performing this test method. 1.3 The text of this standard references notes and footnotes which provide explanatory material. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
