General and substance-specific aspects of the measurement strategy to be taken into account before and during sampling as well as measurement procedures for individual substances or groups of substances in indoor air are described in the single parts of DIN EN ISO 16000. DIN EN ISO 16000 Part 1 deals with the general aspects of the measurement strategy. This standard is of special importance as principle procedures for ventilation and the setting of the room temperature before and during sampling are specified. Indoor air measurements are mainly undertaken for the following five reasons, of which the first may be unrelated to, or may evoke the other four: a) complaints by users about poor air quality, b) the need to determine the exposure of occupants to certain substances, c) the need to measure whether specified limit or Guideline values are being maintained, d) testing the effectiveness of remedial treatment, e) observed or suspected health effects of the occupants. In the standard the corresponding procedures for sampling and the boundary conditions to be observed are described in detail.

General and substance-specific aspects of the measurement strategy to be taken into account before and during sampling as well as measurement procedures for individual substances or groups of substances in indoor air are described in the single parts of DIN EN ISO 16000. DIN EN ISO 16000-2 deals with the specific aspects of the measurement strategy to be taken into account for the determination of formaldehyde. Especially the requirements for ventilation, humidity, setting of the room temperature, sampling duration as well as screening tests are considered. Before an indoor air measurement can be carried out, its objective has to be defined clearly. The measurement is usually required because of one of the following objectives: a) to check compliance with the guideline value, b) to determine maximum concentrations, c) to check the efficiency of remediation, d) to determine the average concentration over a longer period of time. In the standard the corresponding procedures for sampling and the boundary conditions to be observed are described in detail.#,,#

This British Standard gives recommendations and guidance on the delivery of training and education for work at height, including rescue. The standard is applicable to training for work which falls within the scope of the Work at Height Regulations 2005. The standard is applicable to training for work at height in an industrial context, including work at height in factories and in the construction, civil engineering and cleaning sectors. NOTE The Work at Height Regulations 2005 specifically exclude “the provision of instruction or leadership to one or more persons in connection with their engagement in caving or climbing by way of sport, recreation, team building or similar activities”. The standard is not applicable to the provision of training for low level work at height, such as the use of small stepladders or “hop-ups” in retail environments or libraries. It is also not applicable to training which consists of just the provision of simple instruction or product familiarization or site induction. It is applicable to all training and education for work at height, including training involving practical experience of a work method or experience of exposure to height. This also includes “train-the-trainer” type situations in which an employer engages a training provider, or employs a trainer, to deliver training for a single specific task, or on a specific product, to some of their employees who then in turn provide training to other employees. The standard is intended for use by all organizations and individuals providing such training and/or education, including organizations which provide such training to their own employees. The standard is applicable to all locations where such training is provided, whether at a dedicated training facility or at other training sites. The standard is intended to apply to course-based training and education. It is not intended to apply to the provision by an employer of ongoing experience-based training and education in the workplace, where the subject matter of the training being provided is the job itself, for example as provided by an apprenticeship. This standard does not give a detailed specification of course content.

This practice can be used for a range of purposes including incident replication, development of improved arc rated protective products, and the determination of the response characteristics and design integrity of new or used arc rated finished products intended for use as protection for workers exposed to electric arcs. 5.1.1 In-service garments can have very different wash and wear histories. Caution must be used when applying test results from a particular used garment to other used garments. Factors to consider include the garments’ wear histories, work environments, and tasks for which the garments were worn; the methods and facilities for garment maintenance; the number of launderings or processings the garments have been subjected to; and other factors that could impact the protective performance of different garments. Test results from specific used garments should be considered only an approximation of results that might be obtained from other used garments of the same type. 5.1.2 Because of the variability of the arc exposure, different heat transmission values may result for individual sensors. The results of each sensor are evaluated in accordance with Section 12. This practice maintains the specimen in a static, vertical position and does not involve movement except that resulting from the exposure.1.1 This practice provides procedural guidelines for conducting arc testing on finished products intended for use as thermal protection by workers who may be exposed to electric arcs. 1.1.1 This practice is intended to provide procedural guidelines to improve consistency across testing groups. This practice is not intended to define the end points, parameters, or measures to be studied by the tester.1.1.2 This practice is supplemental to Test Methods F 1959/F 1959M and F 2178. Protective materials used to manufacture arc rated finished products shall be tested according to Test Method F 1959/F 1959M prior to being tested according to this practice, and face protective products shall be tested according to Test Method F 2178 prior to being tested according to this practice. Test Methods F 1959/F 1959M and F 2178 provide definitive numeric arc ratings for materials intended for use in finished products worn by workers exposed to electric arcs.Discussion-Face protective products such as face shields and hoods are tested as finished products using Test Method F 2178. These items may be subsequently tested using this practice in order to determine the performance of the interface area between the face protective product and the arc flash PPE worn on the torso.1.1.3 The test specimens used in this practice shall be in the form of arc-rated finished products. These arc-rated finished products may include, but are not limited to, single layer garments, multi-layer garments or ensembles, cooling vests, gloves, chaps, rainwear, balaclavas, faceshields, and hood assemblies with hood shield windows. Non-arc rated finished products shall not be used except that flammable under-layers may be included when part of a flame resistant system or for detecting heat transmission level through the finished product and flammable finished products may in some cases be appropriate for incident reenactment.1.1.4 The arc rated finished product specimens are new products as sold or products which have been used for the intended purpose for a designated time period.1.1.5 Fabrics, fabric layered systems, sewing thread, findings and closures used in arc rated finished products tested under this practice shall meet the requirements of Specification F 1506.1.1.6 Rainwear materials, findings and closures tested under this practice shall meet the requirements of Specification F 1891.1.2 This practice shall be used to measure and describe the response characteristic......
