1.1 This specification covers the requirements for a coating that is a mixture of cadmium and tin mechanically deposited on metal products. Absolute and comparative methods provide a measure for sorting large quantities of nonferrous parts or stock with regard to composition or condition, or both. The comparative or two-coil method is used when high-sensitivity examination is required. The advantage of this method is that it almost completely suppresses interferences. The ability to accomplish these types of separations satisfactorily is dependent upon the relation of the electric characteristics of the nonferrous parts to their physical condition. These methods may be used for high-speed sorting in a fully automated setup where the speed of examination may approach many specimens per second depending on their size and shape. Successful sorting of nonferrous material depends mainly on the variables present in the sample and the proper selection of frequency and fill factor. This specification gives the requirements for copper-clad Invar material for use in the fabrication of metal-clad laminated sheets, used for printed boards. The use of copper-clad Invar material in printed boards modifies some properties of the boards, for example thermal capacity and coefficient of thermal expansion. This specification covers copper-clad Invar material of nominal thickness from 0,1 mm to 2,4 mm. This test method covers equipment and techniques for determining porosity in gold coatings, particularly electrodeposits and clad metals used on electrical contacts. This test method is designed to show whether the porosity level is less or greater than some value which by experience is considered by the user to be acceptable for the intended application. This test method is suitable for flat surfaces, or with appropriate fixtures, for gently curved surfaces. A variety of other porosity testing methods are described in Guide B765 and in the literature. Detailed critical reviews of porosity testing are also available. Other porosity test methods are B735, B798, B799 and B809. This test method is specifically designed for use with gold coatings (95% gold) on substrates of copper and nickel and their alloys. Although not covered in this standard, variations of this test method may be found useful in evaluating coatings other than gold. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
