1.1 These requirements cover photovoltaic junction boxes intended to be attached to phovoltaic modules and panels. 1.2 These requirements cover photovoltaic junction boxes intended for factory and field wiring and may include conduit openings, wiring leads, and/or photovoltaic connectors intended for interconnection of PV modules. 1.3 The products covered by these requirements are intended to be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.

This standard applies to electrical equipment using signals in the frequency range 3 kHz to 148,5 kHz to transmit information on low voltage electrical systems, either on the public electricity distribution network or within installations in consumers’ premises. It specifies the frequency bands allocated to the different applications, limits for the terminal output voltage in the operating band and limits for conducted and radiated disturbance. It also gives the methods of measurement. It does not specify the modulation methods, the coding methods or functional features (except those for the prevention of mutual interference). Environmental requirements and tests are not included. NOTE 1 Compliance with this standard does not imply permission to establish communication with locations outside the consumer’s installation or with other consumers through the public electricity distribution network where this would not otherwise be allowed. The object of the standard is to limit mutual influence between transmission equipment in electrical installations and between such equipment and other equipment. In addition this standard is intended to limit interference caused by signal transmission equipment to sensitive electronic equipment. However, complete freedom from such interference cannot be assured. NOTE 2 Designers should consider signalling systems in conformance with this standard when determining immunity for electrical equipment.

Scope and object This part of 60906 applies to the IEC system of plugs and socket-outlets rated 15 A 125 V a.c. and 20 A 125 V a.c. for household and similar purposes@ for the connection of equipment to distribution systems having nominal voltages between 100 V and 130 V a.c. in so far as dimensional requirements are concerned. Socket-outlets in this standard are classified according to intended use@ in a) socket-outlets for circuits where a single earthing circuit provides protective earthing for connected equipment and exposed conductive parts of the socket-outlet@ if any; b) socket-outlets for circuits where electrical noise immunity is desired for the earthing circuit of connected equipment. The equipment earthing circuit is electrically separated from the protective earthing circuit provided for the exposed conductive parts of the socket-outlet@ if any. For plugs and socket-outlets rated 16 A 250 V a.c. for household and similar purposes@ refer to IEC 60906-1.

This part of IEC 60947 specifies rules for control units@ which perform the switching functions in response to the thermal detectors incorporated in rotating electrical machines according to IEC 60034-11@ and the industrial application.It specifies rules for that type of system comprising a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor detector having particular characteristics@ and its associated control unit.The PT100 detectors are covered by IEC 60751@ where the resistor values are given according to the temperatures of the detector. The present rules lay down the characteristics of association of this particular positive temperature coefficient thermistor detector and its associated control unit (designated ??Mark A detector?? and ??Mark A control unit??)@ when they are used in thermal protection systems.NOTE It is not possible to specify all the requirements for the operating characteristics of a control unit@ as they are dependent on some aspects of the thermal detectors. Some aspects of the requirements of the thermal protector system can only be specified when account is taken of the characteristics of the rotating machine to be protected and the method of installation of the detector within the machine.For these reasons@ for each characteristic it is necessary to specify who is responsible for stating the required values and who is responsible for compliance with the requirement and for carrying out any confirmatory test.

This clause of Part 1 applies with the following additions. Addition: This standard gives specific requirements for public electricity network distribution assemblies (PENDAs), which are stationary assemblies verified by verification tests, as defined in this standard. These ASSEMBLIES are used for the distribution of electrical energy in three-phase systems (see Figure 101 for a typical distribution network). Open type ASSEMBLIES are not covered by this standard. The object of this standard is to state the definitions and to specify the service conditions, construction requirements, technical characteristics and tests for PENDAs. Network parameters may require tests at higher performance levels. NOTE 1 If a PENDA is equipped with additional equipment (for example meters), in such a way that the main function is changed considerably, then other standards may also apply as agreed between user and manufacturer (see 8.5). NOTE 2 Where local regulations and practices permit, a PENDA according to this standard may be used in other than public networks. PENDAs are suitable for installation in places where only skilled persons have access for their use, however, outdoor types may be installed in situations that are accessible to ordinary persons.
