Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 1: General rules
This part of IEC 62026 specifies an interface system providing bit-level and word-level communication between a controller and control circuit devices such as sensors, actuators, and switching elements. The interface system uses cabling with round or flat profiles containing a two conductor signalling pair and optionally a two conductor power supply pair. This part establishes requirements for the interchangeability of components with such interfaces. This part of IEC 62026 specifies the following particular requirements for CompoNetTM 1): – requirements for interfaces between a controller and control circuit devices; – normal service conditions for devices; – constructional and performance requirements; – tests to verify conformance to requirements. These particular requirements apply in addition to the general requirements of IEC 62026-1.

Interpretation Manual No. 15-100 F17 on the December 2002 NF C15-100 standard.
This clause of Part 1 applies with the following additions. Addition: This standard gives specific requirements for public electricity network distribution assemblies (PENDAs), which are stationary assemblies verified by verification tests, as defined in this standard. These ASSEMBLIES are used for the distribution of electrical energy in three-phase systems (see Figure 101 for a typical distribution network). Open type ASSEMBLIES are not covered by this standard. The object of this standard is to state the definitions and to specify the service conditions, construction requirements, technical characteristics and tests for PENDAs. Network parameters may require tests at higher performance levels. NOTE 1 If a PENDA is equipped with additional equipment (for example meters), in such a way that the main function is changed considerably, then other standards may also apply as agreed between user and manufacturer (see 8.5). NOTE 2 Where local regulations and practices permit, a PENDA according to this standard may be used in other than public networks. PENDAs are suitable for installation in places where only skilled persons have access for their use, however, outdoor types may be installed in situations that are accessible to ordinary persons.

Within the IEC 61439 series of standards for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies (ASSEMBLIES), there are system and application details that need to be specified by the user to enable the manufacturer to produce an ASSEMBLY that meets the needs and expectations of the user. This technical report identifies, from the user’s perspective, those functions and characteristics that should be defined when specifying ASSEMBLIES. It provides: – an explanation of the ASSEMBLY characteristics and options within the IEC 61439 series; – a guidance on how to select the appropriate option and to define characteristics so as to meet specific application needs, using a functional approach; and – an assistance in the specification of ASSEMBLIES. References within this technical report to the interface characteristics of an ASSEMBLY and the requirements with which they will comply assume that the ASSEMBLY is designed, manufactured, and verified in accordance with the relevant IEC 61439 standard.

The European Standard EN 50110 consists of two parts: - the first part EN 50110-1 contains minimum requirements valid for all CENELEC countries and some additional informative annexes dealing with safe working; - the second part EN 50110-2 is a set of normative annexes (one per country) which specify either the present safety requirements or give the national supplements to these minimum requirements at the time when this European Standard was prepared. The national annexes (if any) are summarized by the respective member country. National Committees shall notify CENELEC of any changes needed to their national annex.

Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 4-1 : contactors and motor-starters - Electromechanical contactors and motor-starters.
This International Standard applies to non-insulated flat quick-connect terminations consisting of a male tab of size 2,8 mm, 4,8 mm, 6,3 mm or 9,5 mm with hole or dimple detents and a mating female connector for use as either an incorporated or an integrated part of an equipment or of a component, or as a separate entity. This standard establishes uniform requirements for the dimensions, performance characteristics and test program. The connected electrical copper conductors shall be flexible or rigid stranded, having a crosssectional area up to and including 6 mm2 or rigid solid having a cross-sectional area up to and including 2,5 mm2. This standard shall not be used for connecting aluminum conductors. The rated voltage shall not exceed 1 000 V a.c. with a frequency up to and including 1 000 Hz, and 1 500 V d.c., and having the temperature limits applicable to materials used within this standard.

Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Contactors and motor-starters. Electromechanical contactors and motor-starters
This part of IEC 60947 applies to the types of equipment listed in 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 whose main contacts are intended to be connected to circuits the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V a.c. or 1 500 V d.c. Starters and/or contactors dealt with in this standard are not normally designed to interrupt short-circuit currents. Therefore, suitable short-circuit protection (see 9.3.4) forms part of the installation but not necessarily of the contactor or the starter. In this context, this standard gives requirements for: – contactors associated with overload and/or short-circuit protective devices; – starters associated with separate short-circuit protective devices and/or with separate short-circuit and integrated overload protective devices; – contactors or starters combined, under specified conditions, with their own short-circuit protective devices. Such combinations, e.g. combination starters or protected starters are rated as units. For circuit-breakers and fuse-combination units used as short-circuit protective devices in combination starters and in protected starters, the requirements of IEC 60947-2 and IEC 60947-3 respectively apply. Equipment covered by this standard is as follows.
