This part of IEC 62236 applies to signalling and telecommunication apparatus that is installed inside the railway environment. Signalling and telecommunication apparatus mounted in vehicles is covered by IEC 62236-3-2:2018@ signalling and telecommunication apparatus installed inside the substation and connected to substation equipment is covered by IEC 62236-5:2018. This document specifies limits for emission and immunity and provides performance criteria for signalling and telecommunications (ST) apparatus (including power supply systems belonging to ST) which may interfere with other apparatus inside the railway environment@ or increase the total emissions for the railway environment and so risk causing Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) to apparatus outside the railway system. The requirements specified in this document apply for: ?C vital equipment such as interlocking or command and control@ ?C apparatus inside the 3 m zone@ ?C ports of apparatus inside the 10 m zone with connection inside the 3 m zone@ ?C ports of apparatus inside the 10 m zone with cable length > 30 m. Other apparatus not covered by at least one of these given cases is in compliance with IEC 61000-6-2. If a port is intended to transmit or receive for the purpose of radio communication (intentional radiators@ e.g. transponder systems)@ then the radiated emission requirements in this document are not intended to be applicable to the intentional transmission from a radiotransmitter as defined by the ITU. Immunity limits do not apply in the exclusion bands as defined in the corresponding EMC related standard for radio equipment. This document does not specify basic personal safety requirements for apparatus such as protection against electric shock@ unsafe operation@ insulation co-ordination and related dielectric tests. The requirements were developed for and are applicable to this set of apparatus when operating under normal conditions. Fault conditions of the apparatus have not been taken into account. The frequency range considered is from DC to 400 GHz. No measurements need to be performed at frequencies where no requirement is specified. For products in the scope of IEC 61000-3-2@ IEC 61000-3-3@ IEC 61000-3-11 or IEC 61000-3-12@ the requirements of those standards also apply. These specific provisions are used in conjunction with the general provisions in IEC 62236-1.

This part of IEC 62236 specifies the emission and immunity requirements for all types of rolling stock. It covers traction stock, hauled stock and trainsets including urban vehicles for use in city streets. This document specifies the emission limits of the rolling stock to the outside world. The scope of this document ends at the interface of the rolling stock with its respective energy inputs and outputs. In the case of traction units, trainsets, trams, etc., this is the current collector (pantograph, shoe gear). In the case of hauled stock, this is the AC or DC auxiliary power connector. However, since the current collector is part of the traction stock, it is not entirely possible to exclude the effects of this interface with the power supply line. The slow moving test has been designed to minimize these effects. There may be additional compatibility requirements within the railway system identified in the EMC plan (e. g. as specified in IEC 62427). Electromagnetic emissions of the railway system as a whole are dealt with in IEC 62236-2. These specific provisions are used in conjunction with the general provisions in IEC 62236-1. The frequency range considered is from 0 Hz (DC) to 400 GHz. No measurements need to be performed at frequencies where no requirement is specified.

This part of IEC 61000 deals with the limitation of harmonic currents injected into the public supply system. It specifies limits of harmonic components of the input current which can be produced by equipment tested under specified conditions. This part of IEC 61000 is applicable to electrical and electronic equipment having a rated input current up to and including 16 A per phase, and intended to be connected to public low-voltage distribution systems. Arc welding equipment which is not professional equipment, with a rated input current up to and including 16 A per phase, is included in this document. Arc welding equipment intended for professional use, as specified in IEC 60974-1, is excluded from this document and can be subject to installation restrictions as indicated in IEC 61000-3-12. The tests according to this document are type tests. For systems with nominal voltages less than but not equal to 220 V (line-to-neutral), the limits have not yet been considered. NOTE The words apparatus, appliance, device and equipment are used throughout this document. They have the same meaning for the purposes of this document.

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50121-4 and specifies limits and measuring methods for the Emission and immunity of the signalling and telecommunications (S&T-) apparatus and components. The requirements are valid for the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz. Emission limits are specified by reference to generic emission standards. The immunity test procedures are specified on a port by port basis for the S&T-equipment and contain the immunity against electrostatic discharges, radiated radio-frequency fields, electrical fast transients (burst), surge voltages, conducted disturbances, induced by radio-frequency fields and power frequency and pulsed magnetic fields. The decription ot the test procedures shall be taken from the standards given at the relevant place in the standard. The performance criteria for the immunity test are specified by reference to EN 50121-1. In relation to the previous edition annex ZZ was matched with the new requirements etc.

This standard specifies limits and measuring methods for the emission and immunity of all types of rolling stock (traction vehicles, trains and independent hauled stock). The requirements are valid for the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz. The scope ends at the interface of the stock with its energy inputs and outputs. Furthermore this pre-standard does not apply to intentional communication signals. No immunity tests apply to the complete vehicle provided that the rolling stock is immune against an appropriate disturbance level and that the assembly of the apparatus into a complete vehicle is implemented according to a EMC plan. For the emission appropriate limits and the associated test procedures are specified. The specific requirements apply together with the EN 50121-1. In relation to the previous edition of the standard the annex ZZ was matched with the new requirements.

This part of IEC 61000 relates to the immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment, under operational conditions, to ring waves occurring in low-voltage power, control and signal lines supplied by public and non-public networks. The object of this document is to establish a common reference for evaluating the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to ring waves. The test method documented in this part of IEC 61000 describes a consistent method to assess the immunity of an equipment or system against a defined phenomenon. NOTE As described in IEC Guide 107, this is a basic EMC publication for use by product committees of the IEC. As also stated in Guide 107, the IEC product committees are responsible for determining whether this immunity test standard is applied or not, and if applied, they are responsible for determining the appropriate test levels and performance criteria. TC 77 and its sub-committees are prepared to co-operate with product committees in the evaluation of the value of particular immunity test and test levels for their products. This document defines: test voltage and current waveforms; a range of test levels; test equipment; test setups; test procedures.
