This International Standard describes methods of measuring the properties used to specify polycrystalline microwave ferrites in accordance with IEC 60392 and for general use in ferrite technology. These measuring methods are intended for the investigation of materials, generally referred to as ferrites, for application at microwave frequencies. Single crystals and thin films generally fall outside the scope of this standard.
Gyromagnetic materials intended for application at microwave frequencies - Measuring methods for properties
This standard specifies the dimensions that are of importance for mechanical interchangeability for a preferred range of RM cores and low profile RM cores made of magnetic oxides, and the locations of their terminal pins on a 2,54 mm printed wiring grid in relation to the base outlines of the cores. It also specifies the test conditions and clamping forces to be used for inductance measurement.

This International Standard specifies the shapes and dimensions of ferrite cores for inductive components (transformers and chokes) of which the coil is typically constructed by multi-layer board or the coil is part of the motherboard. The general consideration upon which the design of^his range of cores is based is given in Annex A.

Calculation of the effective parameters of magnetic piece parts
This International Standard describes methods of measuring the properties used to specify polycrystalline microwave ferrites in accordance with IEC 60392 and for general use in ferrite technology. These measuring methods are intended for the investigation of materials, generally referred to as ferrites, for application at microwave frequencies. Single crystals and thin films generally fall outside the scope of this standard. NOTE 1 For the purposes of this standard, the words “ferrite” and “microwave” are used in a broad sense: – by “ferrites” is meant not only magneto-dielectric chemical components having a spinel crystal structure, but also materials with garnet and hexagonal structures; – the “microwave” region is taken to include wavelengths approximately between 1 m and 1 mm, the main interest being concentrated on the region 0,3 m to 10 mm. NOTE 2 Examples of components employing microwave ferrites are non-reciprocal devices such as circulators, isolators and non-reciprocal phase-shifters. These constitute the major field of application, but the materials may be used in reciprocal devices as well, for example, modulators and (reciprocal) phase-shifters. Other applications include gyromagnetic filters, limiters and more sophisticated devices, such as parametric amplifiers.

This part of IEC 62317 specifies the dimensions that are of importance for mechanical interchangeability for a preferred range of EER-cores made of ferrite, the essential dimensions of coil formers to be used with them, and the effective parameter values to be used in calculations involving them.
Ferrite cores - Dimensions - Part 7: EER-cores
This International Standard lays down the important dimensions for the mechanical interchangeability of a preferred half pot-core series of ferrite, intended to be used in inductive proximity switches.#,,#
Dimensions of half pot-cores made of ferrite for inductive proximity switches (IEC 62323:2005); German version EN 62323:2005
This standard applies to magnetic cores, mainly made of magnetic oxides or metallic powders, used at low excitation level in inductors and transformers for telecommunication equipment and electronic devices employing similar techniques.
Cores made of soft magnetic materials - Measuring methods - Part 2: Magnetic properties at low excitation level (IEC 62044-2:2005); German version EN 62044-2:2005

Dimensions of half pot-cores made of ferrite for inductive proximity switches
This International Standard specifies the dimensions that are of importance for mechanical interchangeability for ETD-cores made of ferrite, the essential dimensions of coil formers to be used with them, and the effective parameter values to be used in calculations involving them. NOTE 1 Whilst this standard mainly applies to ferrite, its validity for iron powder cores should not be overlooked. NOTE 2 The cores covered by this standard are designed for use in power transformers and chokes operating at high flux density and generally at frequencies higher than those feasible with EC-cores of the same material, due to a core proportioning more suitable for high-frequency applications. They are generally used in pairs. The use of “derived” standards which give more detailed specifications of component parts whilst still permitting compliance with this standard is discussed in Annex A, which also contains an example of a derived standard for coil formers.

Ferrite cores (ETD-cores) intended for use in power supply applications - Dimensions.
This International Standard specifies classification rules for soft ferrite materials used in inductive components (inductors and transformers) fulfilling the requirements of the electronic industries. This standard addresses the following purposes for ferrite suppliers and users: - cross-reference between materials from multiple suppliers; - assistance to customers in understanding the published technical data in catalogues when comparing multiple suppliers; - guidance to customers in selecting the most applicable material for each application; - setting of nomenclature for IEC standards relating to ferrite; - establishing uniform benchmarks for suppliers for performance in new development of materials. The numerical values given in this standard are typical values of parameters (properties) of the related materials. Direct translation from the material specification into the core specification is not always easy or possible. Every detailed material and core specification should be agreed upon between the user and the manufacturer.

This part of IEC 62044 applies to magnetic cores, mainly made of magnetic oxides or metallic powders, used at low excitation level in inductors and transformers for telecommunication equipment and electronic devices employing similar techniques. Some of the methods described in this part of IEC 62044 may also be suitable for magnetic cores used in other components. This part of IEC 62044 gives guidance for the drafting of those parts of specifications for magnetic cores that are concerned with measuring methods for magnetic and electric core properties. This part of IEC 62044 is limited to the general principles to be followed for various possible test methods and sets out the factors to be taken into account when deciding on the description of the test method to be included in the specification. NOTE All the formulae in this part of IEC 62044 use basic SI units. When multiples or submultiples are used, the appropriate power of 10 should be introduced. The conversion factor for inductances and inductance factors is as follows: 1 H = 10 nH.
