This part of ISO/IEC 11518 specifies a physical-level, point-to-point, full-duplex, link interface for reliable, flow-controlled transmission of user data at 6 400 Mbrt/s per direction, across distances of up to 1 km. A parallel copper cable interface for distances of up to 40 m is specified. Connections to a separate longer-distance optical interface are provided. Small fixed-size micropackets provide an efficient, low-latency structure for small transfers, and a component for large transfers. Specifications are included for: - automatic retransmission to correct flawed data; - the format of a small data transfer unit called a micropacket; - a message structure that includes routing information for network applications; - end-to-end, as well as link-to-link, checksums; - the timing requirements of the parallel signals; - a parallel interface using copper coaxial cable; - connections to a separate local optical interface; - a link-level protocol tuned for a maximum distance of 1 km.

This standard defines the method for measuring the noise level of a vehicle security-sounding device. This standard does not define or limit device under test (DUT) frequencies, sounds or tones. However, this standard limits the frequencies that the noise level measurements may measure. Only frequencies between 500 Hz and 3,500 Hz shall be accepted for measurement purposes. If the DUT has multiple frequencies, only those that are within these limits shall be acceptable for measurement. Suitable spectral analysis equipment shall be used for the analysis of the frequencies emitted by the DUT. This need not be done at the time of testing.

This EIA-775.1 standard includes mechanisms to allow a source of MPEG service, such as a cable or terrestrial set-top box, digital VCR, or DTV to utilize the MPEG decoding and display capabilities in a DTV. A control means using web and Internet protocols is the main feature of this standard. It enables user control of remote appliances via another appliance’s (e.g., DTV or PC) web browser graphical user interface (GUI). The controlled service (e.g., MPEG source) passes requested GUI data to the DTV for presentation typically over the decoded video.
