Appendix III of Recommendation ITU-T G.114 provides an introduction on the effect of different IP services on lines with limited bandwidth (e.g., DSL). It explains the mechanism of serialization delay, gives a (very general) overview over prioritization and shows how the maximum delay variation due to concurrent traffic can be calculated. The calculations shown in this appendix are valid for unshared lines only, shared lines are excluded.

This Report consolidates the DFS test methodology used and findings across several administrations, as shown in several annexes. Information is provided on the test methodologies in place in various administrations and/or regional groups to test compliance with DFS requirements. These procedures may be updated over time, and as technology evolves. As a result, web links are provided (in some cases) to the test methodologies themselves, so that the most up-to-date information may be obtained.

This part of IEC 60728 applies to system outlets, splitters and taps, passive single or multiple port equipment comprising filters, attenuators, equalizers, galvanic isolators, power injectors, cable splices, terminating resistors and transfer points, but excluding coaxial cables and receiver leads (see 5.2). This standard • covers the frequency range 5 MHz to 3 000 MHz; • identifies performance requirements for certain parameters; • lays down data publication requirements for certain parameters; • stipulates methods of measurements; • introduces minimum requirements defining quality grades. There are three grades for all passive equipment except system outlets where there is only one. Different networks require the same performance and, when integrating networks, upgrading will be avoided. Practical experience has shown that these three grades meet most of the technical requirements necessary for supplying a minimum signal quality to the subscribers. This classification should not be considered as a requirement but as information for users and manufacturers on the minimum quality criteria of the material required to install networks of different sizes. The system operator should select appropriate material to meet the minimum signal quality at the subscriber's outlet and to optimize cost/performance, taking into account the size of the network and local circumstances. All requirements and published data should be understood as guaranteed values within the specified frequency range and in well-matched conditions.

This Recommendation specifies calibration methodswhich report alignment shifts in both space and time of processed (e.g., compressed, transmitted, and decompressed) video sequences with respect to corresponding source video sequences. The methods also compute gain and offset of processed video sequences. The methods require that spatial and temporal shifts must be constant. Furthermore, the gain and offset must be constant.

CEA-766-C augments ATSC A/65C and designates a) the RRT which provides the receiver with the definition of the rating system and b) the Content Advisory Descriptors which provide the receiver with the specific program rating for each program. Specifically, CEA-766-C specifies the exact syntax to be used to define the U.S. and Canadian Rating Region Tables (RRT) in accordance with ATSC A/65C Section 6.4, as well as the exact syntax to be used in the Content Advisory Descriptors that convey the rating information for each program in accordance with ATSC A/65C Section 6.9.3. Thus DTV receivers are able to block unwanted programs as determined by the user. CEA-766-C does not indicate and is not meant to indicate techniques or procedures for blocking at the DTV receiver (for example, remote control, other human interface devices, on-screen displays and/or graphical user interfaces). See Annex A for related FCC regulations.

This International Standard specifies the terminal for a service purchase and protection system for digital broadcasts, called the 18Crypt system. It is applicable in all countries and regions with suitably compliant broadcasting and multimedia distribution systems. Guidelines for compatible broadcast services are given in this standard. The service purchase and protection functions operate in a pure broadcast environment that may be combined with a bi- directional interactivity channel. This standard is applicable to the following broadcast systems. a) IPDC over DVB-H systems ~/ IP datacast over DVB-H is an end-to-end broadcast system for delivery of any type of digital content and services using IP-based mechanisms optimized for devices with limitations on computational resources and battery. An inherent part of the IP datacast system is that it comprises a unidirectional DVB broadcast path that may be combined with a bi-directional mobile/cellular interactivity path. IP datacast is thus a platform that can be used for enabling the convergence of services from broadcast/media and telecommunications domains (for example, mobile/cellular). This standard specifies service purchase and protection for IP datacast over DVB-H systems (see B.10.3 for an overview of references). b) DVB T/CIS systems DVB T/CIS systems are end-to-end broadcast systems for audio/video data that employ an MPEG2 transport stream and use terrestrial, cable or satellite broadcast networks. This standard specifies a system for the protection of these broadcasts in a pure broadcast environment. In addition, this standard specifies how purchasing, key management and registration may be carried out over an optional interactivity channel. The protection technologies offered by this standard are designed to operate within an existing DVB SimulCrypt environment (see B.10.2 for an overview of references). c) MPEG2 TS-based IP systems MPEG2 TS-based IP systems employ bi-directional IP networks for the (broadcast) delivery of MPEG2 transport streams. This standard specifies a system for the purchase and protection of services and content delivered via these networks. This standard is applicable to, for example, DVB-IPI systems (see B.10.4 for an overview of references). d) Non-MPEG2 TS-based IP systems Non-MPEG2 TS-based IP systems employ bi-directional IP networks for the (broadcast) delivery of audio/video or other data using IP protocols instead of an MPEG2 transport stream. This standard specifies a system for the purchase and protection of services and content delivered via these networks (see B.10.4 for an overview of references).

This part of IEC 60728 is applicable to any cable network(including individual receiving systems)having in the forward path a coaxial cable output and primarily intended for television and sound signals operating between about 30 MHz and 3 000 MHz. This standard specifies the basic methods of measurement of the operational characteristics of cable network having coaxial cable outputs in order to assess lhe performance of these systems and their performance limits. AIl requirements refer to the performance limits, which shall be obtained between the input(s) to the headend or headends and any system outlet when terminated in a resistance equal to the nominal load impedance of fhe system.unless otherwise specified.Where system outlets are not used, the above applies at the subscriber's end of the subscriber's feeder. Also the requirements which are obtained between the input(s) to the headend or headends and any home network interface(HNI)are given. NOTE 1 Methods of measurement described in this standard are considered as basic. However, any equivalent method that ensures at least the same accuracy may be used. NOTE 2 If the system operator wishes to subdivide the system into a number of parts or wishes to use different transmission media(for example, coaxial cabling, balanced cabling.optical cabling),the accumulation of aegraaations should not exceed the fIgures given in this standard. NOTE 3 System performance requirements of return paths as well as specific methods of measurement for the use of the return paths in cable networks are described in IEC 60728—10. Clause 5 defines the system performance limits which will, with an unimpaired input, (headend input signal),produce picture and sound signals(at system outlets)where the impairment to any single parameter wiII be not worse.in normaI operating conditions for any analogue channeI,than Grade four on the five—grade impairment scale contained in ITU-BT 500-10.For digitally modulated signals.the quality requirement is a quasi-error-free(QEF) reception. Appropriate performance requirements for the signals at the receiving antennas site are giyen in Clause 6 in order to provide at the input of the headend of the cable network both analogue and digital television signals with suitable quality. 一 Clause 7 is applicable to home networks(including those of individual receiving systems) using coaxial cables, balanced cables or optical cables and primarily intended for television signals, sound signals and interactive services, operating between about 30 MHz and 3 000 MHz. This clause, considering the basic operational characteristics of a home network, specifies the requirements which shall be obtained at the home network interface(HNI)taking into account the performance requirements given at the system outlet or at the terminal input.
