This is a SAE Standard specification with minimum performance characteristics for Turbine Flowmeter (TFM) that pertains only to sizes from 1/2 to 2 inches. The utilization of TFM is for hydrocarbon liquid fuel volumetric flow measurements. This Standard specifically excludes smart electronics in accomplishing the defined performance objectives. Users of this Standard should specify other TFM characteristics required to satisfy their application and utilization in operational environment. A User should understand fit and function of the TFM and define end user specific fit and function requirements. The TFM should be calibrated by the manufacturer should be based upon end user requirements and presented as Roshko versus Strouhal at a reference temperature. The Supplier shall be prepared to show evidence to User that the device demonstrates compliance with all requirements identified in this Standard.

This part of ISO 17089 specifies requirements and recommendations for ultrasonic gas flowmeters (USMs), which utilize the transit time of acoustic signals to measure the flow of single phase homogenous gases in closed conduits. This part of ISO 17089 applies to transit time ultrasonic gas flowmeters used for custody transfer and allocation metering, such as full-bore, reduced-area, high-pressure, and low-pressure meters or any combination of these. There are no limits on the minimum or maximum sizes of the meter. This part of ISO 17089 can be applied to the measurement of almost any type of gas, such as air, natural gas, and ethane. Included are flow measurement performance requirements for meters of two accuracy classes suitable for applications such as custody transfer and allocation measurement. This part of ISO 17089 specifies construction, performance, calibration, and output characteristics of ultrasonic meters for gas flow measurement and deals with installation conditions. NOTE It is possible that national or other regulations apply which can be more stringent than those in this part of ISO 17089.

This part of ISO 10360 specifies acceptance and periodic reverification tests of CMM performance with contacting probing systems and is only applicable to CMMs using -any type of contacting probing system, -a discrete point probing mode, and -spherical or hemispherical stylus tip(s). It complements ISO 10360-7, which is the module for CMMs with video probing systems, and ISO 10360-2, which is universal, i.e. not probe-type specific. NOTE It is the CMM probing performance tests which are specified by the maximum permissible errors (MPEs), due to the impracticality of isolating the performance of the probing system from that of the CMM, even on a small artefact such as a test sphere. This part of ISO 10360 applies to CMMs supplied with any of the following: a) single-stylus probing system; b) multi-stylus probing systems with fixed multiple styli attached to a single probe (e.g. “star” stylus); c) multiple probing systems such as those with a stylus for each of their probes; d) systems with articulating probing; e) stylus and probe changing systems; f) manual (non-driven) CMMs. This part of ISO 10360 is not applicable to non-contacting probing systems, which require different testing procedures. The terms “multi-stylus size error”, etc., should strictly be written “combined CMM and multi-stylus probingsystem size error”, etc. For convenience, the wording has been truncated. If it is desired to isolate the probing-system performance as far as is practical, the influence of the CMM can be minimized. See Annex C for more information.
