This specification recognizes that the effectiveness of a sheet radiant barrier is dependent on proper installation. Practice C1158 addresses use and installation of radiant barriers. This specification identifies the material properties that are important for sheet radiant barrier products. When appropriate, values for the properties have been stated. The user should consult the manufacturer about specific material properties are needed for a particular application. Radiant barriers shall be free of dust or other contaminants to remain effective. 1.1 This specification covers the general physical property requirements of radiant barrier materials for use in building construction. The scope is specifically limited to requirements for radiant barrier sheet materials that consist of at least one surface having a far-infrared emittance of 0.1 or less, such as metallic foils or metallic deposits mounted or unmounted on substrates. 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.3 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to the test methods (Section 10) described in this specification. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

This standard builds on the concepts and organizational framework established in Classification E1557. This classification describes bridge elements that are major components of most highway, railroad, and pedestrian bridges. The elemental classification is the common thread linking activities and participants in a bridge project from initial planning through operations, maintenance, and disposal. Note 18212;As this classification refers solely to permanent, physical parts of any construction, two additional classifications, Classifications E2083 and E2168, need to be included when calculating construction cost. These standards provide for the inclusion of construction enabling, temporary, and risk mitigation cost figures. Procedures for reporting all these figures are described in Practices E1804 and E2514 and Classification E2516. While these three latter standards were primarily written for building construction, they are nonetheless appropriate and readily applied to other forms of construction as well. The Users of Bridge UNIFORMAT II Include: Financial and InvestmentTypically owners, developers, bankers, lenders, accountants, and financial managers. ImplementationPrimarily project managers; facilities programmers; designers, including engineers; and project controls specialists, including cost planners, estimators, schedulers, specification writers, and risk analysts. Facilities ManagementComprising property portfolio managers, operating staff, and maintenance staff. OthersPublic officials, manufacturers, educators, students, and other project stakeholders. Apply This Classification When Undertaking the Following Work on Bridges: Financing and Investing: Structuring costs on an elemental basis for economic evaluations (Guide E1185 and Practices E917, E964, E1057, E1074, E1121, and E1804) early in the design process helps reduce the cost of early financial analysis and can contribute to substantial design and operational savings before decisions have been made that limit options for potential savings. Implementing: Cost Modeling, Cost Planning, Estimating and Controlling Project Time and Cost During Planning, Design, and ConstructionUse the bridge UNIFORMAT II classification to prepare budgets and to establish elemental cost plans before design begins. This British Standard specifies requirements for the design and fabrication of steel?framed windows and glazed doors. NOTE Performance requirements common to all windows and external pedestrian doors are specified in BS 6375. It is applicable to windows and doors fabricated into frames in a factory from mild steel profiles, hot?rolled or cold?formed, installed vertically into the external face of buildings, as single or multi?light units, in coupled assemblies when appropriate, of the following types: a) fixed light; b) side?hung open out or in; c) top?hung; d) bottom?hung; e) horizontal pivot; f) vertical pivot; g) single?leaf hinged or pivoting door; h) double?leaf hinged or pivoting door. It is not applicable to: 1) windows or doors in which any frame member is longer than 3 m; 2) patent glazing or curtain walls that span across structural floor elements; 3) kits despatched in bar form for assembly into frames on site.

This part of ISO 12567 specifies a method to measure the thermal transmittance of a door or window system. It is applicable to all effects of frames, sashes, shutters, blinds, screens, panels, door leaves and fittings. It is not applicable to - edge effects occurring outside the perimeter of the specimen, - energy transfer due to solar radiation on the specimen, - effects of air leakage through the specimen, and - roof windows and projecting products, where the external face projects beyond the cold side roof surface. NOTE For roof windows and projecting units, see the procedure given in ISO 12567-2. Annex A gives methods for the calculation of environmental temperatures.

This European Standard describes the method of specifying the design, installation criteria for system chimneys, construction of custom built chimneys, and the relining of existing chimneys. It also gives information on commissioning of chimneys. This European Standard also deals with connecting flue pipes. This European Standard does not apply to freestanding chimneys covered by EN 13084-1. This European Standard excludes chimneys designated H (high positive pressure chimneys) and chimneys for room-sealed heating appliances. For the purpose of this European Standard the term "installation" includes construction.
