This International Standard specifies the data types and their associated operations for the implementation of multimodal location-based services for routing and navigation. It is designed to specify web services that may be made available to wireless devices through web-resident proxy applications, but is not limited to that environment.

This International Standard defines a reference model and a conceptual framework for location-based services (LBS), and describes the basic principles by which LBS applications may interoperate. This framework references or contains an ontology, a taxonomy, a set of design patterns and a core set of LBS service abstract specifications in UML. This International Standard further specifies the framework's relationship to other frameworks, applications and services for geographic information and to client applications. This International Standard addresses, for an LBS system, the first three basic viewpoints as defined in the Reference Model for Open Distributed Processing (RM-ODP, see ISO/IEC 10746-1). These viewpoints are the a) Enterprise Viewpoint – detailing the purpose, scope, and policies of the system, b) Information Viewpoint – detailing the semantics of information and processing within the system, c) Computational Viewpoint – detailing the functional decomposition of the system. The fourth and fifth viewpoints are addressed only in requirements or examples. These are the d) Engineering Viewpoint – detailing the infrastructure for distribution, e) Technology Viewpoint – detailing the technology for implementation. Reference models and frameworks can be defined at a variety of levels, from conceptual design to software documentation. This International Standard - defines the conceptual framework for, and the type of applications included within, LBS, - establishes general principles for LBS for both mobile and fixed clients, - specifies the interface for data access while roaming, - defines the architectural relationship with other ISO geographic information standards, - identifies areas in which further standards for LBS are required. This International Standard does not address the following issues: - rules by which LBS are developed; - general principles for roaming agreements for mobile clients and tracking targets.

This International Standard defines a CCSDS file delivery protocol (CFDP) and associated service for application in the space environment. It is intended for use over the current and envisaged packet delivery services used in the space environment, including ⎯ CCSDS conventional packet telecommand; ⎯ CCSDS conventional packet telemetry; ⎯ CCSDS advanced orbiting systems (AOS) path service. It may also operate over a wide variety of ground network services, including those specified by the CCSDS for cross-support purposes. The protocol operates in the space-to-ground, ground-to-space, and space-tospace directions of transfer. It may be initiated by the file sending or receiving entity. In the interests of interoperability, protocol elements are included for generalized forms of standard file manipulation operations based on assumptions of a common model for a ‘filestore’, or medium used to store files. It is recognized, however, that the precise nature and capabilities of filestore management systems are operating-system dependent and, for that reason, the protocol assumes a virtual filestore and associated services that an implementation must map to the capabilities of the actual filestore used. The scope and field of application are furthermore detailed in subclauses 1.2 and 1.3 of the enclosed CCSDS publication.

This International Standard defines the Proximity-1 space link protocol data link layer (framing, media access, data services, and input-output sublayers). It specifies the protocol data units, framing, media access control, expedited and sequenced controlled data transfer, timing service, i/o control, as well as the procedures for establishing and terminating a session between a caller and responder. The coding and synchronization sublayer is defined in ISO 21459. The physical layer is defined in ISO 21460. This International Standard does not specify a) individual implementations or products; b) implementation of service interfaces within real systems; c) the methods or technologies required to perform the procedures; or d) the management activities required to configure and control the protocol. The scope and field of application are furthermore detailed in subclause 1.3 of the enclosed CCSDS publication.

CLARA identifies four functions: Data Space Generator, Truth Data Generator, Coefficient Generator, and Reconstructor. Together these four functions standardize the solution to the LAR problem. This ICD defines the logical interfaces of the four functions. This document specifies the CLARA interfaces of the Data Space Generator, Truth Data Generator, Coefficient Generator, and Reconstructor functions. The weapon and delivery platform developers define the details of each function. The Data Space Generator selects a representative set of discrete release conditions, (such as altitude, wind, speed, and release flight path angle) from a continuum of release-condition possibilities. For each set of release conditions, the Data Space Generator defines a corresponding grid of target points. The subset from the multi-dimensional space of discrete release conditions, along with their corresponding grid of target points, wind constraints, and impact angle constraints serve as the input to the Truth Data Generator. The Truth Data Generator uses the Data Space Generator output to calculate the achieved impact parameters (velocity, angles, and miss distance). The Truth Database stores the release conditions and the achieved impact parameters for each target point. The Truth Data Generator generates impact data sets for the Coefficient Generator. The Truth Data Generator uses a model of the weapon system that predicts weapon delivery performance to a predefined accuracy. The weapon model may use Six-Degrees-Of-Freedom (6DOF) or another mathematical representation that meets the objective for the weapon system LAR. The Coefficient Generator generates coefficients for a mathematical fitting model. This mathematical fitting model is commonly referred to as the LAR Algorithm. The output of the Reconstructor is an approximation of the original weapon footprint data based on flight and environment conditions. The Mission Planning, Trainer Systems, and weapon delivery aircraft use this approximation.

This International Standard defines the communications link transmission unit (CLTU) service in conformance with the transfer services specified in ISO 15396:1998. The forward CLTU service is a space link extension (SLE) transfer service that enables a mission to send communications link transmission units (CLTUs) to a spacecraft. This International Standard defines, in an abstract manner, the forward CLTU service in terms of - the operations necessary to provide the transfer service; - the parameter data associated with each operation; - the behaviors that result from the invocation of each operation; and - the relationship between, and the valid sequence of, the operations and resulting behaviors. It does not specify - individual implementations or products; - the implementation of entities or interfaces within real systems; - the methods or technologies required to radiate data to a spacecraft and to acquire telemetry frames from the signals received from that spacecraft for extraction of the Operational Control Field; - the methods or technologies required for communications; or - the management activities necessary to schedule, configure, and control the forward CLTU service. The scope and field of application are furthermore detailed in subclause 1.3 of the enclosed CCSDS publication.
