Ultraviolet (UV) laser marking for aerospace wire and cable is now a well established and accepted process. The purpose of this report is to provide general information on the technical basis of marking systems that apply UV laser energy to the wire surface. This includes materials for UV laser marking; the key characteristics of UV lasers suitable for this application, in terms of the mark process requirements and operational requirements; the various types of UV lasers which meet the general requirements for wire marking; and the generic components of UV laser marking systems. Subjects beyond the scope of this report include other wire marking systems not utilizing UV lasers; legibility; and contrast measurement.

This International Standard specifies the general characteristics, performance, design, test, safety, reliability, maintainability and quality requirements for ground support equipment (GSE) and systems intended for use at launch, landing, or retrieval-site installations or other locations that are the responsibility of the launch, landing and retrieval site. This International Standard does not specify how to design GSE, but establishes the minimum requirements to provide simple, robust, safe, reliable, maintainable and cost-effective GSE. This International Standard is applicable to the design of non-flight hardware and software used to support the operations of transporting, receiving, handling, assembly, inspection, test, checkout, service, launch and recovery of space vehicles and payloads at the launch, landing, or retrieval sites. As such, the requirements of this International Standard are optional for hardware used only at the manufacturing, development, or test sites prior to arrival at the launch, landing, or retrieval sites or at the mission control site. However, if such GSE is temporarily used at a launch, landing, or retrieval site, for whatever reason, this GSE shall comply with all the safety-related requirements of this International Standard, as a minimum. NOTE —In the event of conflict between the documents referenced herein and the contents of this International Standard, the contents of this International Standard supersede except where otherwise noted. The applicable contract or purchase/procurement order takes precedence over the contents of this International Standard in the event of conflicting requirements. Nothing in this International Standard supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.

This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) defines interface configurations for the ground air conditioning service connection on commercial transport aircraft. In addition, it defines the clearances required to accommodate the connection of ground air conditioning hose couplings. Two types of service connections are included. The Type A connection is a slotted ring with integral locking pads and is comparable to the MS33562 connection. The Type B connection is a flanged tube with external locking lugs. The Type B connection has the same interface dimensional requirements as the Type A connection. The purpose of this document is to establish uniform interface configurations on commercial transport aircraft for the ground air conditioning (conditioned air) service connection. Consideration is also given to the durability, maintainability, and repairability of the connection.

1 This International Standard specifies the func-tional, performance and safety requirements for self-propelled passenger boarding stairs intended for access to the cabin of all aircraft types commonly in service in international civil air transport with a cabin door sill height equal to or exceeding 2,54 m (100 in) over the ground. 2 The intent of this International Standard is not to specity equipment design, but rather to define minimum functional and performance requirements and highlight those criteria which are recognized as essential in the environment of international airports by aircraft and vehicle manufacturers as well as air-lines and handling agencies. 3 This International Standard shall be applied with due reference to national governmental regulations of the country where the vehicle is to be operated.
