This International Standard specifies a method for measuring the bursting strength of paper submitted to increasing hydraulic pressure. It is applicable to paper having bursting strengths within the range 70 kPa to 1400 kPa. It is not intended to be used for the components (such as fluting medium or linerboard) of a combined board, for which the method given in ISO 2759[1] is more suitable. In the absence of any commercial agreement as to which method should be used for testing the material, materials with bursting strengths below 600 kPa should be tested according to this International Standard.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Messen der Berstfestigkeit von Papier fest, wobei die Probe zunehmendem hydraulischen Druck ausgesetzt ist. Sie ist auf Papier mit Berstfestigkeiten in einem Bereich von 70 kPa bis 1400 kPa anwendbar. Die Anwendung ist nicht fur Einzelkomponenten (wie fur Papier, die fur die gewellten und ungewellten Lagen von Wellpappe dienen) von mehrlagigem Karton vorgesehen. Fur dieses Verfahren ist ISO 2759 besser geeignet. Aufgrund mangelnder wirtschaftlicher Vereinbarungen, welches Verfahren fur welches zu prufende Material angewendet werde sollte, sollten Materialien mit Berstfestigkeiten unter 600 kPa nach dieser Internationalen Norm gepruft werden.

This part of ISO 5631 specifies a method for measuring the colour of paper and board by the diffuse reflectance method with the elimination of specular gloss. This part of ISO 5631 is primarily intended for measuring the colour of paper and board to be used in the graphic arts industry, where that industry specifies the measurement of colour under D50/2° conditions in accordance with ISO 13655. This method differs from ISO 13655, in that, the UV content of the illumination is adjusted to a different level. The method can be used to determine the colour of papers or boards that contain fluorescent whitening agents, provided the UV content of the illumination on the test piece has been adjusted to conform to that in the CIE illuminant C, using a fluorescent reference standard provided by an authorized laboratory, as described in ISO 2470-1. This part of ISO 5631 is not applicable to coloured papers or boards that incorporate fluorescent dyes or pigments.

This part of ISO 5631 specifies a method for measuring the colour of paper and board by the diffuse reflectance method with the elimination of specular gloss. It can be used to determine the colour of papers or boards that contain fluorescent whitening agents, provided the UV content of the illumination on the test piece has been previously adjusted to give the calibrated colourimetric value corresponding to CIE standard illuminant D65, using a fluorescent reference standard with an assigned CIE whiteness (D65/10°) value provided by an authorized laboratory, as described in ISO 11475. This part of ISO 5631 is not applicable to coloured papers or boards that incorporate fluorescent dyes or pigments.

This International Standard specifies a method for measuring the bursting strength of board submitted to increasing hydraulic pressure. It is applicable to all types of board (including corrugated and solid fibreboard) having bursting strengths within the range 350 kPa to 5500 kPa. It is also applicable to papers or boards having bursting strengths as low as 250 kPa if the paper or board is to be used to prepare a material of higher bursting strength, such as corrugated board. In such cases, the measurements will not necessarily have the accuracy or precision stated for this method and it is necessary to include a note in the test report stating that the test gave results that were below the minimum value required by the method. In the absence of any commercial agreement as to which method should be used for materials with bursting strengths between 350 kPa and 1400 kPa, all materials with bursting strengths below 600 kPa, except components of solid and corrugated fibreboard, should be tested by ISO 2758 and the remainder by this International Standard.

ANMERKUNG Die als C/2°-Brightness und -Farbe bezeichneten Eigenschaften werden mit einem Gerat gemessen, das auf einen viel geringeren UV-Anteil angepast ist als in diesem Teil der ISO 12625 festgelegt wird. Die Messung von C/2°-Brightness und -Farbe werden in ISO 12625-15 beschrieben.
