This International Standard provides guidance on the design of stability studies for use in gathering information to enable determination of the shelf-life of contact lens care products. This International Standard does not address studies designed to obtain information to establish the in-use stability (i.e. notice of discard date) of contact lens care products.

Reference test method for release of nickel from those parts of spectacle frames and sunglasses intended to come into close and prolonged contact with the skin.
This International Sandard specifies a measuring system for spectacle frames and related terminology. It is applicable to fronts which are intended to be symmetrical.
Ophthalmic optics - Spectacle frames - Measuring system and terminology (ISO 8624:2011); German version EN ISO 8624:2011
This European Standard specifies a method for simulating the release of nickel from those parts of spectacle frames and sunglasses intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin in order to determine whether they release nickel at a rate greater than 0,5 ?g/cm2/week. NOTE 1 This European Standard, EN 16128, has been prepared in reply to the European Commission's Mandate M/448 addressed to CEN. From the technical point of view, this European Standard provides an unchanged re-publication of the technical requirements that had previously been specified in EN 1811:1998, but restricted in scope to apply only to spectacle frames and sunglasses. NOTE 2 Users of this European Standard may wish to note that, also in reply to the European Commission's Mandate M/448, this European Standard is currently subject to review with the objective of developing a new standardized method to supersede this European Standard when the new method becomes available. NOTE 3 Nickel release testing of products other than spectacle frames and sunglasses is specified in EN 1811:2011.

This International Standard specifies safety and performance requirements for contact lenses, contact lens care products, and other accessories for contact lenses. This International Standard does not specify electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility considerations that might arise from the use of electrical equipment in conjunction with contact lenses or contact lens care products.

Ophthalmic optics - Contact lenses and contact lens care products - Determination of preservative uptake and release.
The standard describes two test methods and the requirements to be used in evaluating the antimicrobial activity of products to be marketed for contact lens disinfection by chemical means and for products that are part of a contact lens care regimen. The International Standard is not applicable to the hygienic management of trial lenses.

1.1 This specification is intended to prescribe minimum safety requirements for candles to provide a reasonable degree of safety for normal use with candles, thereby improving personal safety and reducing fires, deaths, and injuries. 1.2 This specification is not intended to replace other important safety practices that should be in place, such as adult supervision, close monitoring, fire detection, alarm or suppression systems, and use of candles away from combustible materials. 1.3 Flame-producing devices, such as candles, present a potential hazard to the user. This specification cannot eliminate all hazards, but will minimize the potential hazards of candles to the user. 1.4 This specification is used to measure and describe the response of materials, products, or assemblies to heat and flame under controlled conditions, but does not by itself incorporate all factors required for fire hazard or fire risk assessment of the materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire conditions. 1.5 This standard is used to predict or provide a quantitative measure of the fire hazard from a specified set of fire conditions involving specific materials, products, or assemblies. This assessment does not necessarily predict the hazard of actual fires which involve conditions other than those assumed in the analysis. 1.6 Fire testing is inherently hazardous. Adequate safeguards for personnel and property shall be employed in conducting these tests. 1.7 This specification states values in SI units which are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parenthesis are for information only. 1.8 This specification does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory requirements prior to use.

1.1 This consumer safety specification establishes performance requirements, test methods, and labeling requirements to promote the safe use of infant bath tubs. Specifically excluded from the scope of this standard are products commonly known as bath slings, typically made of fabric or mesh. 1.2 This consumer safety specification is intended to reduce the risk of death and minimize injury to infants resulting from use and reasonably foreseeable abuse of infant bath tubs. 1.3 No infant bath tub produced after the approval date of this consumer safety specification shall, either by label or other means, indicate compliance with this specification unless it conforms to all requirements contained herein. 1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.5 The following precautionary caveat pertains only to the test methods portion, Section 7, of this consumer safety specification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
