This is the harmonized CSA Group and UL standard for particular requirements for Commercial
Refrigerating Appliances with an Incorporated or Remote Refrigerant Unit or Compressor. It is the first
edition of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60335-2-89, and the first edition of UL 60335-2-89.
This harmonized standard is based on IEC Publication 60335-2-89: Edition 2.1, Household and Similar
Electrical Appliances – Safety – Part 2-89: Particular Requirements for Commercial Refrigerating
Appliances with an Incorporated or Remote Refrigerant Unit or Compressor, issued July 2012. IEC
60335-2-89 is copyrighted by the IEC.
This harmonized Standard was prepared by CSA Group and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL). The
