This section of IEC 60793-1 gives the measuring methods applicable to the practical measurement of the length and the cross-sectional dimensions of an optical fibre. The methods are to be used for inspection of optical fibres for commercial purposes.The object of this section is to establish uniform requirements for geometrical characteristics of optical fibres.
