This standard describes the headform impact test for testing the behaviour of safety glasses (toughened glass, laminated glass, plastics and glassplastics-laminates) in a road vehicle under impact from a blunt bulky object. The dropping object is a headform weight (10 kg) with a spherical or semi-spherical head made of laminated hard wood covered with a replaceable felt and with a cross-beam made of wood. Between the spherical part and the cross-beam, there is a neck-shaped intermediate piece and on the other side of the cross-beam, a mounting rod. The damage of the sample, if any, and the falling height of the headform weight, applied according to the requirements, are noted an recorded as test results.
