This standard specifies the requirements and methods of test for the construction, safety, performance, classification and marking of gas-fired appliances consisting of a back boiler and a gas fire. These appliances are intended for installation with a governed or regulated gas supply.
This standard applies to open flued appliances using 2 and/or 3 family gases only.
This standard does not apply to:
—back circulators;
—catalytic combustion appliances;
—appliances in which the supply of combustion air, or the movement of convected air, is achieved by mechanical means;
—appliances intended for direct heating of sanitary water;
—gas fires with a range-rating capability.
This standard only covers type testing.
