This Publicly Available Specification (PAS) specifies requirements for filled collective fall arrest systems
used to absorb kinetic energy of a falling person from a height not exceeding 2 m above the impact surface.
NOTE Filled collective fall arrest systems covered by the scope of this PAS are principally for use inside a building during
construction, where the cushioning mats will be enclosed by walls or partitions, or externally, where the cushioning mats will be
restrained by other means.
It includes a test method for dynamic performance and requirements for design, construction, instructions
for use and maintenance, warning labels, quality control and conformity marking. It does not include
installation requirements.
This PAS is applicable to filled collective fall arrest systems intended for installation on a firm surface and
not suspended.
This PAS is not applicable to personal protective equipment against falls from a height.
This PAS is not applicable to containment of falling debris.
