This Published Document gives guidance to committees on the preparation of codes of practice for building
covered by the Sector Committee for Building and Civil Engineering, B/-. It does not cover civil engineering
and structural design codes, or fire standards.
This document builds on the guidance given in previous editions of PD 6501 and makes reference to the
most recent edition of BS 0-3 for detailed information on BSI requirements for the drafting and preparation
of British Standards.
