The purpose of this publication is to explain the administrative procedure for the issue, variation and renewal of Air Operators’ Certificates (Balloons) [AOC(B)] and to indicate the requirements to be met by applicants and certificate holders in respect
of equipment, organisation, staffing, training and other matters affecting the operation of public transport balloons.
Notes: 1) For the purpose of this publication the term Operator is used to describe
both applicants and certificate holders. The certificate holder may be a registered corporate body, or a named individual or individuals with or without trading name(s).
2) For the purpose of this publication the use of the pronoun ‘he’ shall imply ‘she’ where appropriate.
