This document defines the syntax and semantics for the carriage of SMPTE 291M Ancillary Data Packets in
MPEG-2 Transport Stream PES packets. It supports ancillary data packets regardless of whether they
originate from an SD or HD interface, or if the ANC data packet is from VANC or HANC, Y or C space.
Sufficient information is provided to enable the ANC packets at the output of the decoder to be restored to their “original” locations in the serial digital video signal.
