This specification covers the dimensional and material requirements of metal ties suitable for walls having cavity widths of up to the largest likely to be found in masonry walling constructed to dimensionally co-ordinated sizes. NOTE a) The standards referred to in the specification are listed in Appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in Appendix B. c) Guidance on the verification of the quality of metal wall ties produced to this specification is given in Appendix C. d) Guidance on the selection and use of metal wall ties is given in Appendix D.
