The document covers the fundamentals of physical and chemical gas-phase adsorption for air pollution control applications, characterises the commercial adsorbents employed and describes some of the deriving adsorption processes from the overal spectrum of applivations. In view of the application-specific particularities, a comparative technical and economic evaluation of the adsorptive waste gas cleaning processes and a comparison with alternative emission control technologies have been dispensed with.
