The objective of Recommendation ITU-T Y.2028 is to describe intelligent access selection mechanisms in multi-connection. Scenarios, requirements, considerations and solutions on security, as well as pricing aspects are also covered. In a multi connection environment, intelligent access selection is a mechanism for the network and/or mobile device to select the preferred network access based on a set of selection criteria (e.g., service type, bandwidth).
