This document contains technical safety requirements for the design, equipment and testing of brushless vehicle washing systems and vehicle washing systems with brushes for, indoor and outdoor operation, i.e. roll-over vehicle washing systems, vehicle washing tunnels, manually movable vehicle washing facilities. This document does not apply to hand-guided high pressure cleaners which are covered by EN 60335 2-79:2012, to water recycling systems, buildings and doors for entering the traffic zone, for powered ride-on machines and powered walk-behind machines with a traction drive. NOTE Signals (example doors, lighting systems) can be provided by the vehicle washing system. This document contains requirements for the protection of persons and objects from accidents and damages during use and operation of vehicle washing systems. Persons to be protected are: - operators, - maintenance and monitoring personnel, - persons in the vicinity of vehicle washing systems, - persons sitting in the vehicle during cleaning. Objects to be protected are: - vehicles. Significant hazards associated with vehicle washing systems are listed in Clause 4. These hazards have been established by a risk assessment according to EN ISO 12100 and require measures to eliminate the hazard or to reduce the risk. These measures are specified in Clause 5 of this document. The safety requirements assume that vehicle washing systems are regularly maintained by trained and competent persons according to the manufacturer's information and that the operators, with the exception of users of self-service washing systems, have been instructed in the handling of vehicle washing systems.

This document is applicable to road vehicles, where the electronic vehicle interface is used to perform a test method that is part of a periodic technical inspection (ePTI). This document describes use cases and specifies technical requirements in order to support the ePTIrelevant vehicle safety system(s) checks during the periodic technical inspection via the electronic interface. This document references the ISO 14229 series, the unified diagnostic services implemented on diagnostic communication over controller area network (DoCAN) and the Internet protocol (DoIP) along with the required provision of data definitions. The technical requirements of diagnostic services and data definitions of emissions-related systems are specified in other International Standards, for example, ISO 15031 and ISO 27145. Other environmental systems' ePTI use cases and technical requirements can be considered in the future. This document defines: — all requirements describing the vehicle-communication functionality via the diagnostic link connector related to ePTI, for example: 1) discovery of the ePTI data link; 2) discovery of the ePTI-relevant systems; 3) query of ePTI-relevant systems’ information, including software identification, software integrity, current and/or stored values; 4) query of ePTI-relevant systems’ error information; 5) activation of ePTI-relevant systems’ actuators or routines; — the use cases about the individual vehicle communication functionality, for example, query identification information, command functional test method. This document does not directly specify any type of test method or pass/fail criteria of the ePTIrelevant system during a PTI, but provides data, which may support PTI test methods. The document specifies: — terminology; — communication establishment between the ePTI external test equipment and the vehicle's ePTIrelevant systems; — usage of a credentials-based authentication and authorisation mechanism between the ePTI external test equipment and the vehicle; — protection against tampering of the defined ePTI methods;  1  — definition of ePTI-relevant use cases: — ePTI external test equipment discovers available data identifier as specified in ISO 20730-3; — ePTI external test equipment queries the ePTI-relevant system’s information, including software numbers, software integrity information, current and/or stored values, self-test completion status, system status, and error information (e.g. DTC and/or DID information); — ePTI external test equipment activates the ePTI-relevant system’s actuators or routines; — definition of ePTI-relevant technical requirements; — ePTI external test equipment minimum requirements. This document excludes: — process definitions for performing the PTI check; — process and data definitions for off-board data provision; — standardised data exchange formats; — validation and verification of vehicle safety systems according to vehicle manufacturer specifications.

This document contains safety-related requirements for high pressure water jet machines with drives of all kinds (e.g. electric motor, internal combustion engine, air and hydraulic) in which pumps are used to generate pressure. This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events arising during assembly, erection, operation and servicing relevant to high pressure water jet machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Annex ZA). All references to high pressure water jet machines within this document includes machines for one or more of the following industrial applications: - cleaning; - surface preparation; - material removal; - readjustment of concrete; - cutting. NOTE 1 List of significant hazards is given in informative Annex D. This document applies to mobile and fixed high pressure water jet machines, in which the water pressure is generated by a pressure generator/pump and in which the maximum allowable working pressure is more than the upper limit fixed in the scope of EN 60335-2-79:2012. NOTE 2 35 MPa is currently the upper limit for machines covered by EN 60335-2-79:2012. This document does not cover: - requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU; NOTE 3 In some cases, specific parts can be in the scope of that directive, but their application is not dealt with in this document. - high pressure cleaners which are dealt with in EN 60335-2-54:2008, EN 60335-2-54:2008/A11:2012, EN 60335-2-54:2008/A11:2012/AC:2015, EN 60335-2-54:2008/A1:2015 and EN 60335-2-79:2012; NOTE 4 EN 60335-2-54:2008, EN 60335-2-54:2008/A11:2012, EN 60335-2-54:2008/A11:2012/AC:2015 and EN 60335-2-54:2008A1:2015 applies to steam cleaners for household use. EN 60335-2-79:2012 applies to high pressure cleaners having a rated pressure not less than 2,5 MPa and not exceeding 35 MPa, as well as steam cleaners and those parts of hot water high pressure cleaners incorporating a steam stage which have a capacity not exceeding 100 l, a rated pressure not exceeding 2,5 MPa and a product of capacity and rated pressure not exceeding 5 MPa. - additional hazards due to the incorporation of high pressure water jet machines into other process-technology machines; - specific hazards associated with explosive atmospheres, use on ships or ambient temperatures outside the range 5 °C to 40 °C; - hazard due to the nature of liquids used for jetting, other than that due to pressure; - hazards associated with the drives or specific hazards due to any heat generation function. However, the hazards due to high temperatures of touchable surfaces are dealt with; - high pressure water jet machines which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN; - hazards due to noise for what concerns the declaration of noise emission values in the instructions. NOTE 5 Noise emission measurement and noise declaration will be dealt with in an upcoming amendment to this document. Tests according to this document are type tests unless they relate to routine (informative) tests to be carried out during series manufacture. NOTE 6 Routine tests are described in informative Annex C. Compliance with EN 1829-1 and EN 1829-2 provides the full requirements for high pressure water jet machines.
