This International Standard specifies an identification scheme for double-stud tie-down fittings having an omnidirectional rated load capacity of 22 250 N (5 000 Ibf) or above in a rail conforming to ISO 7166. It is applicable to all cargo tie-down fittings equipped with a moveable plunger, regardless of material or method of fabrication, that satisfy national regulatory airworthiness requirements with regard to the ad-ditional special factors appropriate to the method of fabrication of the assembly or component parts thereof. The requirements specified in this International Stan-dard are intended to facilitate identification of such tie-down fittings by non-technical ramp and cargo personnel.

The requirements for cabin pressure for all types of aircraft have been established for the Armed Services in military specifications, by the Federal Aviation Authority and by the SAE in recommendations. These requirements limit the cabin altitude to 8000 ft in transport and long range military aircraft. In the fighter aircraft, when the pilot uses oxygen and the mission duration is relatively brief, cabin altitudes up to 25,000 ft are allowed. Supersonic transports, which operate at high speed and high altitude, have short flight durations and high rates of descent. To avoid an uncomfortable rate of change of cabin pressure when descending from high altitudes, a maximum cabin altitude of 6000 ft is recommended. The pressurization system design considerations presented in this AIR deal with human physiological requirements, characteristics of pressurization air sources, methods of controlling cabin pressure, cabin leakage control, leakage calculation methods, and methods of emergency cabin pressure release.

This ARP covers a procedure to be used in the determination of 0.05 to 0.3 ppm of chlorine in oxygen from any type of generator used for emergency or other life-support systems. The methyl orange method described can be considered as a referee technique. Instrumental analysis is also given. This ARP describes a method for rapid and reliable measurement of chlorine in oxygen from a solid chemical oxygen generator. The method of sampling and analysis used in this procedure is adequate to encompass the range of interest relevant to the 0.3 ppm limit set for chlorine in oxygen. The test is sufficiently flexible to make the determination during a part of or for the first 60 s after activation, since this is the usual time during which chlorine may be found in the oxygen being generated.
