1 Scope This document is applicable to all types of Storage and Retrieval (S/R) machines, restricted to the rails on which they travel within and outside the aisles for the storage and retrieval of unit loads and/or long goods such as bar materials and/or for order picking or similar duties. These machines embody lifting means along a mast and may include lateral handling facilities. Also included is the transfer equipment used to change between aisles. Control of machines may range from manual to fully automatic. S/R-machine-related satellite vehicles according to definition 3.15 are included as a load-handling-device (LHD). References in this standard to racking, buildings and systems only apply where it is necessary to assess the hazards and risks at their interfaces with S/R machines. This document deals with all significant hazards relevant to rail dependent storage and retrieval equipment, when they are used under the conditions intended by the manufacturer including reasonably foreseeable misuse (see Annex F “List of significant hazards”). This document is applicable to machines and equipment that are manufactured after the date of issue of this document. A transition period of 12 months is proposed. Figures of examples of machines and transfer equipment to which this standard applies are shown in Annex A. Safety requirements and/or measures in this standard apply to equipment used under indoor conditions. However, additional risk assessments and safety measures need to be considered for uses in severe conditions, e.g. extremely high temperatures, loads, ...

⑴.本文件首次定义了“货架安全负责人”、“第三方货架检测机构”、“即时检测”、“定期检测”、“专业检测”等名词术语。 ⑵.本文件给出了货架检测的基本要求：货架所属单位与使用单位应建立货架安全使用管理制度与操作程序，安排货架的检测，并记录或形成报告，存档。 ⑶.本文件给出了检测资质与能力要求，针对首次货架检测进行了分类，从检测的专业水平、检测人员技能要求等方面将货架检测分为了即时检测、定期检测与专家检测，规定了检测资质与能力要求。 ⑷.本文件按照检测类别与货架类型，规定了货架检测内容。规定了各种类型货架的检测内容，包括：货架的结构布置变动、普通螺栓紧固性、焊缝感观、部件完损、货架防护设置等，还应检测货架的存储单元净距变化、托盘和货物是否受损、安全使用管理制度与操作程序落实情况、整体垂直度、承载梁挠度、地坪螺栓紧固性。 ⑸.本文件规定了专业检测频率。文件给出了横梁式式货架、穿梭车货架、驶入式货架、后推式货架架等市场主流货架和自动化立体库货架的检测频率。 ⑹.本文件依据检测发现的风险项对货架的安全承载影响程度给出了风险等级判定标准，分为绿、橙、红三个等级。给出了检测结果评估分级流程图。 ⑺.本文件给出了三种不同检测类别的检测结果呈现要求，即时检测要记录在档，定期检测与专业检测要形成检测报告，且对报告做出了要求。 ⑻.本文件以安全风险评估为前提，针对检测人员在检测中可能遇到的风险进行评估，规定了检测的基本要点，以保证检测实施的安全性。

This European Standard gives guidelines for operational aspects relevant to structural safety of storage systems. Such systems operate with heavy mechanical handling equipment working in close proximity to static storage equipment. This European Standard minimizes the risk and consequences of unsafe operation or damage to the structure. Some other forms of storage equipment are only partially covered and further consideration, beyond the scope of this European Standard, can be required. This European Standard gives guidance in conjunction with prEN 15512, EN 15620, and EN 15629 to ensure that the specifier, user and designer are aware of the constraints in each other’s area to allow a safe design to be produced. This European Standard specifically excludes storage equipment manufactured form materials other than steel (except for certain accessories) and equipment intended to be used for domestic storage purposes.

This European Standard supplies guidelines for the technical specification to allow the design of racking and shelving in its various forms such as adjustable pallet racking (APR), crane serviced racking, drive-in racking (DIR), cantilever racking and shelving systems, including their various forms of construction, using manually operated and controlled mechanical handling systems. Some other forms of storage equipments are only partially covered and further consideration, beyond the scope of this document, may be required. This European Standard gives guidance for the specifier of storage systems to coordinate suppliers of all equipment including individual responsibilities. This European Standard does not cover storage equipments manufactured from materials other than steel (except for certain accessories) and equipment intended to be used for domestic storage purposes.

Both un-braced and braced systems are included. This document gives guidelines for the design of clad rack buildings where requirements are not covered in the EN 1993 series. The requirements of this document also apply to ancillary structures, where rack components are employed as the main structural members. This document does not cover other generic types of storage structures. Specifically, this document does not apply to mobile storage systems, drive-in, drive-through, pallet live storage, push back, shuttle systems, systems where two or more cranes operates one above another in the same aisle and cantilever racks or static steel shelving systems. For the specific design of adjustable pallet racking for use in seismic areas, this document is to be used in combination with EN 16681.

Within the general scope defined in Section I, ASME B30.13 applies to storage/retrieval (S/R) machines and associated equipment, such as aisle-transfer cars and aisle equipment (as defined in para. 13-0.2.1) , and interfaces with other material-handling equipment covered under other standards.
