La présente norme nationale du Canada est basee sur la norme internationale CEI/IEC 60335-2-70:2004. 1 Domaine d'application L'article de la Partie 1 est remplacé par l'article ci-après. La présente Norme internationale traite de la sécurité des machines à traire destinées à être utilisées dans les étables et à l'extérieur, qui sont conçues pour traire les animaux de la ferme, tels que les vaches, dont la tension assignée n'est pas supérieure à 250 V pour les installations monophasées et à 480 V pour les autres installations. NOTE 101 Comme exemples d'appareils compris dans le domaine d'application de la présente norme, on peut citer: - les machines à traire à pot trayeur; - les machines à traire directement en bidon; - les machines à traire avec lactoduc de traite; - les machines à traire avec récipient de contrôle; - les machines à traire avec circuit indépendant. NOTE 102 Une description détaillée des types de machines à traire couverts par la présente norme est donnée dans l'ISO 3918 et indiquée à l'Annexe AA. NOTE 103 La limite supérieure pour la tension assignée monophasée de 250 V peut être dépassée dans les cas où des moteurs 480 V à enroulement auxiliaire de démarrage sont nécessaires. NOTE 104 La présente norme s'applique aux sous-ensembles de traite fournis par un fabricant pour former une machine à traire complète. Elle peut être utilisée comme guide pour la sécurité des machines à traire constituées à partir de sous-ensembles fournis par différents fabricants. NOTE 105 L'attention est attirée sur le fait que: - pour les machines à traire destinées à être utilisées dans des véhicules ou à bord de navires, des prescriptions supplémentaires peuvent être nécessaires; - dans de nombreux pays, des prescriptions supplémentaires sont spécifiées par les organismes nationaux de la santé, par les organismes nationaux responsables de la protection des travailleurs, par les organismes nationaux responsables de l'alimentation en eau et par des organismes similaires.

This National Standard of Canada is based on International Standard CEI/IEC 60335-2-70:2004. 1 Scope This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. This International Standard deals with the safety of milking machines, to be used in stalls and in the open, that are designed for milking farm animals, such as cows, the rated voltage of the milking machine being not more than 250 V for single-phase operation and 480 V for other operations. NOTE 101 Examples of such machines are: - bucket milking machines; - direct-to-can milking machines; - milking pipeline machines; - recorder milking machines; - independent air and milk transport milking machines. NOTE 102 A detailed description of the types of milking machines covered by this standard is given in ISO 3918 and is indicated in Annex AA. NOTE 103 The upper limit for the rated voltage of 250 V single-phase may be exceeded in cases where 480 V split-phase motors are required. NOTE 104 This standard applies to milking sub-assemblies supplied by one manufacturer to form a complete milking machine. It can be used as guidance for the safety of milking machines formed from sub-assemblies supplied by different manufacturers. NOTE 105 Attention is drawn to the fact that: - for milking machines intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships, additional requirements may be necessary; - in many countries, additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities.
