1 Scope This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following: This document deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial rotary ironers , intended to be used by trained users in e.g. hotels hospitals, factories, in light industry and on farms. It also covers rotary ironers which are declared for commercial use in areas open to the public and operated by lay persons e.g. in laundrettes and communal laundry rooms. Their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase and 480 V for others. This document also covers electrically operated commercial rotary ironers making use of other energy sources. It does not cover requirements for these other energy sources for heating purposes. However, the influence of these other energy sources on the machine is covered. As far as is practicable, this document deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in household and similar environments. However, in general, it does not take into account — children playing with the appliance, — the use of the appliance by children , It is recognized that very vulnerable people may have needs beyond the level addressed in this document. IEC PAS 63124:2017(E) is applicable to tumble dryers for commercial use of the automatic and non-automatic type, incorporating an electric or steam heating device. It also includes tumble dryers which use gas as a heating source with a reference to appropriate EN gas standards. The object is to state and define the principal performance characteristics of tumble dryers for commercial use of interest to users and to describe standard methods for measuring these characteristics. It does not apply to transfer tumble dryers or dryers with automatic loading and unloading.

IEC PAS 63125:2017(E) specifies methods for measuring the performance of clothes washing machines for commercial use utilizing cold and/or hot water supplies and without heating or with heating devices for electricity, steam or gas. It also deals with appliances for both washing and drying textiles (washer-dryers) with respect to their washing-related functions. This PAS covers top, front and side-loaded non-household washing machines with horizontal or vertical axes and with one or more wash compartments. The object is to state and define the principal performance characteristics of non-household washing machines and to describe the test methods for measuring these characteristics. Non household tumble dryer performance is assessed to CLC/TS 50594. This PAS does not apply to continuous batch washing machines (e.g. tunnel washers) or washing machines only possible to operate with automatic loading and unloading. This PAS does not specify safety requirements for non-household washing machines. Safety requirements are specified in EN 50571 and the EN ISO 10472 series.

IEC PAS 62958:2015(E) specifies a test method for measuring the reduction of microbial contamination in clothes washing machines and of the possible cross contamination to uncontaminated load. This PAS applies to clothes washing machines for household use, with or without heating devices utilising cold and/or hot water supply. It also covers washing machines which specify the use of no detergent for normal use. This PAS applies also to washing machines for communal use in blocks of flats or in launderettes. This PAS does not deal with professional washing machines nor with commercial laundry operations associated with food service, hospital linens or other non-residential applications. It also does not address the needs of persons with specific health conditions requiring special sanitization and/or disinfection techniques. This PAS does not specify safety requirements and does not deal with performance of washing machines measured under IEC 60456 nor with effects on fabrics.

1.1 This test method evaluates the energy consumption of powered open warewashing sinks. The food service operator can use these tests to evaluate and select a suitable washing device and understand its energy consumption. 1.2 This test method applies to powered open warewashing sinks (powered sinks) with the following characteristics: a large main water sink with electrically powered water pump(s) and multiple high flow water nozzles. The unit may include gas or electric heaters to maintain water temperature. These powered sinks are designed to run for predetermined cycle duration and accommodate pots and pans of various shapes and sizes as well as cooking utensils. They are intended for stand alone use and require little supervision. The powered sink will be tested for the following (where applicable): 1.2.1 Maximum energy input rate (10.2), 1.2.2 Preheat energy consumption and duration (10.3), 1.2.3 Idle energy rate (10.4), 1.2.4 Pilot energy rate, if applicable (10.5), and 1.2.5 Washing cycle energy consumption (10.6). NOTE 1—This test method applies only to the powered portion of the unit. Other compartments (sanitizing, rinsing, and so forth) are not evaluated. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
