This International Standard specifies sample preparation methods for determining mercury levels in new tubular fluorescent lamps (including single capped, double capped, self-ballasted and CCFL for backlighting) containing 0,1 mg mercury or more. The intended resolution of the methods described in this standard is of the order of 5 %. Mercury level measurement of spent lamps is excluded, as during lamp operation, mercury gradually diffuses into the glass wall and reacts with the glass materials. The test method of this standard does not recover mercury that is diffused into or reacted with or otherwise incorporated irreversibly with the glass wall of discharge tubes. This standard does not contain information on measurement. Measurement is specified in IEC 62321.

This part of IEC 61547 describes an objective light flickermeter, which can be applied for, amongst others, the following purposes: testing the intrinsic performance of all lighting equipment without voltage fluctuations; testing the immunity performance of lighting equipment against (unintentional) voltage fluctuation disturbance on the AC power port; testing the immunity performance of lighting equipment against intentional voltage fluctuation on the AC power port arising for example from ripple control systems. The object of this document is to establish a common and objective reference for evaluating the performance of lighting equipment in terms of illuminance flicker. Temporal changes in the colour of light (chromatic flicker) are not considered in this test. This method can be applied to lighting equipment which is within the scope of IEC technical committee 34, such as lamps and luminaires, intended for connection to a low voltage electricity supply. Independent auxiliaries such as drivers can also be tested by application of a representative light source to that auxiliary. The objective light flickermeter and voltage fluctuation immunity method described in this document are based on the IEC 61000-3-3 standard for voltage fluctuation limits and the flickermeter standard IEC 61000-4-15. The objective light flickermeter described in this document can be applied to objectively assess flicker of lighting equipment that is powered from any type of source, AC mains, DC mains, battery fed or fed through an external dimmer. The specific voltage fluctuation immunity test method described in this document applies to lighting equipment rated for 120 V AC and 230 V AC, 50 Hz and 60 Hz. NOTE The principle of the method can be applied for other nominal voltage and frequency ratings.

This document is applicable to LED packages for general lighting services. It specifies procedures and conditions for measuring the luminous flux maintenance of LED packages. It also provides the procedures and conditions (criteria) of projecting the long-term luminous flux maintenance based on limited luminous flux maintenance test data collected. Within the context of this document, wherever luminous flux measurement data is specified, radiant flux measurement data can also be used. These projection methods employ data collected as per ANSI/IES LM-80-15 (LM-80). The long-term projection is based on the exponential-fit-function procedure of IES TM-21-11 (TM-21), and gives an alternative border function procedure in the case where the exponential-fit-function of IES TM-21-11 is not applicable.

This Technical Specification provides guidelines for establishing confidence in product reliability using principal component testing for LED light sources and LED luminaires for general lighting. It includes methods and criteria using initial qualification tests and accelerated stress tests of the principal components. The performance of any principal component will influence the performance of the final product. Techniques to validate full lifetime claims and lumen maintenance projection are outside the scope of this Technical Specification. The following principal components are included in the testing if they are used as an integral part for the LED light source or LED luminaire: LED package and interconnects; optical materials; electronic subassemblies; cooling systems, both active (e. g. fans) and passive (e. g. thermal interface material); construction materials. This Technical Specification is not recommended for use as a normative reference to the LED product performance standards.

The requirements of this document relate only to type testing. NOTE 1 Where in this document the term "lamp(s)" is used, it is understood to stand for "non-integrated GX16t-5 capped tubular LED-lamp(s)", except where it is obviously assigned to other types of lamps.
