This part of BS 1722 specifies requirements for close-boarded and wooden palisade fences. It includes requirements for the installation of the fencing at the specified location. This standard specifies requirements for protective treatments. However, maintenance, which is an important aspect of extending the service life of the fence, is outside the scope of this standard. This standard includes requirements for sizes of components, together with the permissible tolerances on size. These are minimum requirements and it will normally be acceptable to use larger sizes, except if this could adversely affect the fitting of components or if replacement parts are required to match with those already present.

Standard Practice for Installation of Rigid Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Fence Systems
This British Standard specifies field-measurable performance requirements for gaps, gates and stiles for footpaths and bridleways and other routes used by the public. It can also be used on wholly private ways. It provides a hierarchy of performance requirements to enable choices to be made as to which type of structure is most appropriate in given circumstances. In regard to stiles, this standard is aimed at the repair and refurbishment of existing ones. This British Standard does not apply to stiles with moving parts.

This document regards precast reinforced concrete garages produced as monolithic units or as kits of single sections with room dimensions in stationary factories. These garages are intended to be erected on foundations designed by others and complying with the behaviour of the precast units. They may be free-standing, or may have backfilling behind some of the walls (earthfilled), or earth covered or built over with a parking area for cars or a second storey of precast garages. This document also applies to supplementary units, kits for double space garages and multiple parking garages as well as for garage boxes for one-storey basement garages. It does not

Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-95 : particular requirements for drives for vertically moving garage doors for residential use.
This standard deals with the safety of electric drives for garage doors for residential use that open and close in a vertical direction, the rated voltage of the drives being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. It also covers the hazards associated with the movement of these electrically driven garage doors. It does not cover hazards related to the mechanisms of the door itself or to wicket doors.NOTE 101 Examples of garage doors are shown in Figure 101.NOTE 102 The drive may be supplied with a garage door.NOTE 103 This standard also applies to entrapment protection devices for use with drives.

This European Standard specifies the safety and performance requirements for doors, gates and barriers, intended for installation in areas in the reach of persons, and for which the main intended uses are giving safe access for goods and vehicles accompanied or driven by persons in industrial, commercial or residential premises. This European Standard also covers commercial doors such as rolling shutters and rolling grilles used in retail premises which are mainly provided for the access of persons rather than vehicles or goods. These doors can include pass doors incorporated in the door leaf which are also covered by this European Standard. These devices can be manually or power operated. This European Standard does not cover operation in environments where the electromagnetic disturbances are outside the range of those specified in EN 61000-6-3.

ExclusionsThis European Standard does not apply to the following which are intended for a different use: lock gates and dock gates; doors on lifts; doors on vehicles; armoured doors; doors mainly for the retention of animals; theatre textile curtains; horizontally moving manually operated pedestrian doors with a leaf size less than 6,25 m2; horizontally moving power operated doors less than 2,5 m wide and 6,25 m2 area, designed principally for pedestrian use in accordance with prEN 12650-1; revolving doors of any size; railway barriers; barriers used solely for vehicles. This European Standard does not cover the radio part of doors. If a radio operating device is used, the relevant ETSI standards should be applied in addition. This European Standard does not contain any specific requirements for fire resistance or smoke control characteristics which are covered in prEN 13241-2.This European Standard does not contain any specific requirement for doors which are moving because of energy stored by dedicated means from human power such as manually tensioned springs. This European Standard does not contain any specific requirements for doors on escape routes. The ability to open the door leaf safely and easily cannot normally be achieved by industrial, commercial and garage doors due to size, weight and/or mode of operation. The noise emission of powered doors and gates is not considered to be a relevant hazard. ThereforeThis European Standard does not contain any specific requirements on noise in relation to the Machinery Directive. Specific applicationsThis European Standard should also apply to power operated doors which have been created by the addition of power operation to an installed manual door in respect of the relevant requirements. Annex ZA does not apply toThis kind of door. It also identifies requirements and classes of performance for additional characteristics considered to be of importance to the trade. When a door is part of the load carrying structure of the building the requirements of this European Standard can apply on a voluntary basis in addition to the requirements for the load carrying structure, which are not dealt with inThis European Standard.
